handy, useful
I'm a quilter who likes to have tools/supplies I need at each area I need them--sewing machine, ironing station, cutting station, serger station. It annoys me to have only 1 pin caddy and have to remember to take it with me when I move to a new station, or have to retrace my steps to get it. So I bought 3 of these to go with my old one, and I'm glad I did. And I have found this design is much better than my old magnetic pin holder--the crease across the middle really makes grabbing a pin easier and lines them up so I don't get poked.

Oval shape works well along with split center. Easy to grasp pins. Wish I had it years ago

So easy to grab your pins
I have two, one on my cutting board for putting in the pins and one by my sewing machine when I remove the pins. When one is empty and the other full, I switch them around. Works like a dream.
