Disappointing Hardware, Decent Software
I’ve used this meditation headband extensively, and while the companion app is solid, the device itself is fundamentally flawed. Here's the breakdown:Hardware Quality: PoorFrom the beginning, the headband gave me persistent connection issues. During meditation sessions, it frequently loses sensor contact and plays an audio alert to indicate the disconnection, completely disruptive and counterproductive during a session where silence and focus are critical. This repeated problem is enough to make you want to avoid using it entirely. The build quality is unacceptable for a device priced around $200. Both sides of the headband broke due to flimsy materials. The structural design is weak and feels cheap. I had to patch it together myself to keep using it. On top of that, the elastic band at the back snaps easily. Out of the three included bands, one is already broken, and I’m on the second. These bands don't stretch well and aren't designed to accommodate different head sizes comfortably. The form factor is also questionable. The design sits awkwardly, with two "legs" that reach toward the ears in a strange, unstable manner. It's not adaptable, lacks ergonomic refinement, and does not feel professional in the slightest. It honestly looks disposable.Additionally, the headband doesn’t offer an adjustable or expandable design for people with larger heads. This is a significant oversight, especially considering that many users might find the fit uncomfortable. A design similar to that of the Muse headband, where the band can expand to fit a wider range of head sizes, would make this product far more versatile and comfortable.App Quality: StrongWhere the hardware fails, the app is the only redeeming part. It has a clean, professional interface and delivers meaningful metrics like coherence, a feature I value. It also allows integration with third-party apps during meditation sessions without charging extra, which is a notable advantage compared to some competitors.Final Verdict:The app shows promise, but the device itself undermines the experience. It's unreliable, cheaply made, and frustrating to use. Unless there's a complete overhaul in design and materials, I can't recommend this product. Especially not at this price point. Look elsewhere (like the Muse line) if you want a dependable, well-built meditation device.

Useful device
Initially bought more or less as a “gadget” and was prepared for it to be less than advertised . Still trying to see all the different options that it can help with things like neurofeedback and it seems to think I’m not in a coherent state when I feel that way, but that’s the great thing about the product- it provides real feedback that allows you to better discover and discipline your mind if you keep at it. I wish that the free version of the app did a better job of guiding you through the functionality and added benefits of the premium version though.
