Review: Takes the hobby to the next level. Super easy, safe, sharp and splendid. - Well I’m so glad a friend of mine who’s super experienced with planted tanks recommended this brand. Not only is this regulator way more affordable than others but the product is pure quality and comes with all the features you want with a high end regulator. Super easy to set up, twist it onto your co2 tank, push on your co2 tubing and push the other end to whatever diffuser you’re using, plug in the regulator, twist on the co2, get the bubbles per second you want and boom, or should I say done, no pun being intended. For me it was especially worth getting the pro model so that I could have the dual checks to stop any end of tank dump and protect my fish. I spent way more than the difference between regulators so why not spend a little more for the peace of mind. It’s also super aesthetically pleasing. Also, I wanted the option to be able to move the regulator around to different tanks if I wanted, particularly multiple 10 gallon grow out tanks I set up in the garage (with the families blessing lmao). This regulator lets you add modules so you can run multiple co2 lines to multiple tanks so you’re not having to get some splitter to attach onto a regulator which would just be opening yourself up to more issues rather than just getting a regulator from the start that allows you to add modules and grow into. I already moved mine from my 55 gallon to my 6 grow tanks and am just going to pick up another regulator. The only downside is you might end up with a few more tanks like me but even friends outside the hobby appreciate seeing 6 grow out tanks that end up looking like dutch style rainbows or epiphyte jungle scapes with the help of co2. I have a near embarrassing amount of houseplants but aquatic plants still blow me away. It’s definitely a game changer, both co2 and having a regulator that is jammed pack with these features. Oh and I recommend just going to your local homebrew store and picking up a 10 lb co2 tank. It looks absolutely incredible with the regulator and it lasts forever. It beats the crap out of anything else on the market both above and below it’s price point. Last thing I’ll say is to the people who are thinking about taking their first steps into co2. Do it. It takes a humble yet beautiful fish keeping hobby to a place where you and your fish are so so much happier. The sheer ease to which you’ll grow plants will make you feel unstoppable and your fish will color up, display brilliant natural behavior and you’ll just get so much more satisfaction seeing an underwater world that you just want to cozy up in or go explore. Anyway, this regulator knocked it out of the park for me. Great company, great selection and dope product. Dang didn’t mean to write so much but I’m friggin pumped.
Review: Excellent option for CO2 injection for a larger tank. - I have been involved in the aquarium hobby for several decades, but this is the first time I have ventured into the use of CO2 injection for a planted aquarium. I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank that is heavily planted and moderately stocked with fish. I have adequate lighting and add fertilizers to the tank, but needed a source of carbon to facilitate plant growth. After extensive research into various options, I decided to use CO2 injection from a standard 5# CO2 tank, FZONE regulator and a ceramic diffuser. I chose the FZONE Pro Dual-stage regulator for a number of specific reasons. 1. This regulator comes with a standard CGA320 connector that screws onto standard CO2 tanks like the 5# tank I chose. Should you wish to use this regulator with smaller tanks such as paintball tanks, Soda Stream tanks, or even disposable tanks, adapters are available to do so. However, for a 55 gallon tank and larger, standard CO2 tanks are more cost effective. 2. The regulator comes with two stages of regulation and two gauges to monitor tank pressure and delivery pressure. Furthermore, the delivery pressure is adjustable. The dual stage regulator keeps the delivery pressure constant and avoids the possibility of a end of tank surge of CO2 which can harm livestock in the tank. Thus, I do not have to monitor tank pressure on a daily basis. Many regulators come with two gauges but are only a single stage of regulation. Some mini regulators come with only one gauge. Some regulators come with a non-adjustable delivery pressure. 3. The regulator comes with a solenoid that operates on a 12v DC power supply. That is safer than a 120V solenoid when you are working near water. If the power supply does fail, it is easily replaced as 12 VDC power supplies are commonly used for a variety of applications. I have the power supply plugged into a timer such that the CO2 comes on 2 hours before my lighting in the morning and turns off 1 hour before the lights turn off. That insures the plants have an adequate supply of CO2 during the high-growth period, but CO2 does not build up to excessive levels at night when plants cannot consume it. The solenoid does cut off the CO2 flow completely when the power is off. 4. The regulator comes with not just one, but two needle valves and accompanying bubble counters with check valves built in. These appear to be precision machined valves that provide precise control over the CO2 flow. They seem to be quite stable in that when the CO2 comes on in the morning, the flow rate is the same as it was the previous day. I have mine set for about 90 bubbles per minute, but you might need more or less depending upon your tank size, water chemistry and plant requirements. I am only using one of the needle valves, but you can connect a second tank, or reserve it as a spare in case the first one fails. The check valve insures that tank water does not back up into the needle valve and regulator when the CO2 flow is stopped at night. This avoids one potential maintenance issue. 5. When I had my CO2 tank filled, the supplier provided a couple of nylon washer. However, I found that these washer were not thick enough to provide a good seal between the tank and the regulator. The thicker washer provided with the regulator worked perfectly. 6. I have not had the unit long enough to verify its long term durability, but considering I should only have to refill the CO2 tank every 4-6 months and I do not have to make routine adjustments to the needle valve, I predict that the system will last a long time. The most likely maintenance issues may be the solenoid and power supply; both of these are easily replaceable should the need arise. 7. Lastly, the system seems to be fairly priced. Most dual-stage regulators are significantly more expensive than the FZONE. Since I have not used CO2 injection previously, I did not want to spend $200-300 for a regulator alone. I do recommend this unit to anyone with a 40 gallon and larger tank who wants to begin using CO2 injection. For tanks smaller than 40 gallons, this is probably more system than is required, but it suits my 55 gallon setup quite well.

## Features

- Dual stage construction & adjustable output pressure. Dual stage construction provides stable output pressure regardless of how much CO2 gas remains inside the CO2 cylinder, eliminating unpredictable catastrophes such as an end-of-tank-dump (EoTD). The output pressure is adjustable from 0-65 PSI based on customers’ different needs.
- Modular manifold block design. Two manifold blocks are included. Each block comes with its own high-precision needle valve and can be operated independently. You may use one block for one aquarium or use both for two aquariums.
- Safety and precision in mind. Our regulator has a built-in safety valve. It will open automatically to release the pressure when it exceeds 100 PSI. The integrated needle valve is precise. The CO2 output can be adjusted to as low as 1 bubble every 3 seconds.
- Solenoid runs on 12V DC instead of conventional 120V AC. This regulator adapts to 12V DC, which is more stable and consumes less power. The solenoid is safe to touch and is very quiet. This solenoid is designed to work with an automatic timer.
- Attention. Suitable for North American CO2 cylinder with CGA320 adapter! Installation tools are included.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The needle valve isn't very good. The bubble count drifts often. Is there a way to manage this? Or change out for a better needle valve?**
A: I don’t have that problem with either of mine. The needle valve is a secondary regulation device. Try adjusting the primary regulator valve down. This will reduce pressure to the needle valve.

**Q: I just set up the regulator. But i see that even with the power off, bubbles are coming out of the bubble counter. Is this normal?**
A: No. That is not normal. The solenoid should shut off the flow completely. However, make sure you do not have the regulator pressure set too high. The regulator should be set to the lowest pressure that will allow bubbles to flow. Mine runs a little over 20 psi. If the pressure is set to high, the solenoid might leak.

**Q: what size wrench do i need to tighten this regulator onto the bottle of co2?**
A: I just use an adjustable monkey wrench on mine. You don’t have to tighten it incredibly tight.

**Q: would I need a stand-alone check valve when using this regulator with an inline diffuser?**
A: The manufacturer says the bubble counter has an integrated check valve. So no. But I would!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product, solid build. Finicky solenoid though, would give 4.5 if I could.
*by A***B on December 30, 2024*

I have been using the FZONE Pro Series Aquarium Dual Stage CO2 Regulator for over four years and have been largely satisfied with its performance. The integrated bubble counter and multiple flow adjustment levers are particularly convenient features that enhance its usability. The quality of the mechanical components is good and they maintain a solid seal after several years. However, I did encounter an issue with the solenoid. After some time, the unit became finicky to turn on, requiring the adapter cables to be in a particular position to hear the click sound, indicating power. Eventually, the red power wire for the solenoid became disconnected, likely due to twisting over years of normal use. This resulted in the solenoid failing to activate. To resolve this, I opened the plastic housing of the solenoid and reconnected the loose red power wire. This quick fix restored the unit to full functionality. It's worth noting that when I initially purchased the regulator, I experienced solenoid issues within the first month. The seller was responsive and promptly provided a replacement, which has been in use since then. Overall, I am pleased with the regulator's performance and features. However, potential buyers should be aware of the possibility of solenoid wiring issues over time. Careful handling of the wiring connections can help prevent such problems. Fortunately repairing the issue in my case was pretty simple. I would rate this product 4.5 out of 5 stars.
