Game changer on transit, planes, trains etc.
I continue to be cautious about wearing masks in risky situations because my long covid leaves me vulnerable to a poor outcome if I am reinfected. But wearing good masks for an extended time is stressful. This mask draws air in thru a n95 filter and then delivers it via a soft silicone tube to an n95 mask. So while wearing it you get a constant supply of 'clean air' that prevents you breathing in contaminated air around the mask. Additionally the air in the mask stays wonderfully cool, making it so much more comfortable to wear. I have used it on long flights for 11 hours and was really relieved by how comfortable it was and how safe I felt! The mask itself is an n95 and will provide as much protection to those around you as a typical n95mask. Given the imperfect fit of all of these disposable masks the protection is more in the limited distance exhaled droplets spread than in much actual filtering. The unit is very quiet. You hardly can hear it. You can order replacement filters for the unit as well. I have found that I can drop the unit, on its lanyard, under a sweater or jacket with just a length of the hose coming up to the mask so it doesn't look to obtrusive. One last thing. The fan works while it is being charged, so in the car or on flights or with a backup battery such as you might use for a phone, you can charge it while using it. Anyways, highly recommended! If you are also having to be extra careful this will be a game changer!

A surprisingly good facemask for woodworkers!
I don't like wearing masks for extend periods. I bought this mask several weeks ago to wear for extended periods in my wood shop. I especially need a mask when sanding and milling wood as I have develop an allergy to wood dust. I was worried that it would not perform well because it is so cheap. I have worn it many times for several hours at a time. It has performed above expectations. I have a vacuum system in my shop but it doesn't fully collect the finer dust. I thought I would try this cheaper alternative to a Trend style mask costing $500 or more. This thing is comfortable to wear, easy to breath while wearing, and, so far, has filtered all the fine dust my work has generated. While it comes with only rudimentary instruction, there are 4 blue lights that indicate the fan speed when running and they also indicate the charge state when charging. Very simple. It works so well you forget you are wearing it. That is a real plus. And, even though it is a hepa filter and not an organic filter, I could not smell the epoxy I was working with the other day while wearing it. That says a lot to me about the filter efficiency. So far I have not had any problems but, since it is so inexpensive, I can replace it repeatedly for the cost of a single Trend system. I highly recommend trying this simple device before investing in a more expensive powered air filter.

I can breathe!
Best thing EVER! I have vocal paralysis after a thyroidectomy, so breathing is difficult enough without masks. This gives 3 levels of air, but remember it is taking air from outside of the unit. If you are outside in the heat, you get that same hot air. If you are in the ac, you get the cool ac air. It feels like you aren't even wearing a mask inside the ac. I am a service person in and out of houses all day. I have been wearing this for several days now and the battery is still fully charged running mostly on the 2and level. I am carrying a beefy portable charger in case the battery dies in the middle of a job, but I do not see my ever needed it. A night time charge will eventually be enough as I will have ample warning of battery depletion. I often get strange looks and my husband says it looks extreme against my black work shirt, but I know people are actually wondering where they can get one. I also feel like if a customer isn't wearing a mask it is protecting me from them as well since it not only has the N95, but the Hepa filter as well. Probably a false hope, but probably a better level of protection than a homemade mask that gets tugged on all day. The fit is perfect, air placement perfect, air box is not so heavy it is even noticeable on a lanyard. This mask is much more comfortable than any N95 mask I have ever worn, so I doubt I will be cutting my own 1/2" hole in anything bought locally. They seriously got this 100% right the first time. I am thinking I should buy an extra one just in case this one breaks or the prices get ridiculous because the secret gets out about how wonderful these things are. The only thing that could make it better is being made in the USA

After sealing a leak path, excellent filter performance is achieved
I have now bought several of these and have provided to friends and family. I used one on my first post pandemic flight myself and felt more comfortable that I was protected. I believe that after making minor modifications, the unit provides better filtration than an N95 mask alone because the positive pressure reduces the amount of leakage around the mask when you inhale. It also just feels more comfortable with the provided airflow. Since I am an engineer who was recently designing similar larger devices, I tested this filter with a laser particle counter looking for 0.3 micron particle size. I found that some air could bypass the filter around various leak paths. Covering the usb charge port during use was an improvement but finally I found that I could solve the issue with silicone caulk applied around the pcb inside under the filter. I have modified several this way now and confirmed performance. Prior to that modification, the filter performance was worse at high speed than low speed and sometimes marginally N95 caliber. After the modification, I get very low particle concentration around 200 particles per cubic foot in a room with background count around 500,000 particles per cubic foot. Prior to the change I was counting around 6000 - 8000 particles per cubic foot. So the bottom line: It IS more protective than an N95 filter and more comfortable. Its true that the tubing can kink and I suppose it could tear. So far I have not had those issues. I used a 3/8" leather punch to make more masks for it and found a different style mask that worked a little better for me. I have also measured the airflow rate with a hot wire anemometer and though there is some measurement uncertainty, I can affirm that its in the range of 2.5 - 3.0 CFM on the high setting.

Helpful to breathe better with a mask!
Great product. Use it at grocery stores, hospitals, and other places where a mask is needed considering COVID. Feel like I am the lucky one to be able to breathe comfortably. I use a KN95 disposable mask that I cut a hole in it changing it daily. Learned to cut a hole by bending the mask to puncture the hole. Then cut a circle. If need a bigger circle I would use the scissor to cut lines (like a stars edges) at the circles edges to enable the plastic piece to go inside the cut circle. Then I put the hose making sure it is secured tightly fit over the mask. Took me awhile to learn this technique as it can be challenging to cut a circle in the middle of the mask. Have been using this mask for over a month now and happy with my purchase. Have to charge it after using it for a few hours. Has 3 settings for low, medium and high. I am fine with low for daily use.

Defective Product and Unreachable Customer Support
I purchased this product because I struggle with spring allergies and need something that would allow me to do yard work comfortably. I had high hopes for it, but unfortunately, the battery charging mechanism didnโt workโeven after trying multiple known-good outlets. I also attempted to contact the company using the phone numbers provided in the included brochures, but neither the sales nor service lines were functional. Thankfully, Amazon issued a refund without any issues. Still, Iโm disappointed, as I really need a product like thisโit would have been a great solution if it had worked as expected.

At first disappointed but now happy
UPDATE: apparently patience really is a virtue because now the unit works. ??? I met someone else who has one which didn't work at first. However, after getting angry and holding the button down a really...long...time. she got hers to work. So I got angry, pushed the button down a really...long...time, and after 3 tries it started working. And it fully charges now. There's a slight chemical smell which i hope will go away, but other than i like it. It's nice to have air flow. It's not a huge amount, but it's enough to make the mask more tolerable and me less claustrophobic. Oh, and there are 3 fan speeds. Once it turns on, push the button a 2nd time, and the fan is on medium. Push it a 3rd time, it's on high. Push a 4th time, and it turns off. Anyway, I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars now that it works. I can't give it a 5 star rating because: 1) the instructions absolutely suck; 2) the batteries have obviously been dead for a long while because it takes at least a couple of days of charging to get a complete and full charge; and 3) the aggravation of having to go through too much to get it to works. Fix all that, and it's 5 stars all the way. This is such a great concept, but this unit doesn't pull it off. I plugged mine in to charge straight out of the box. Twelve hours later it still wasn't fully charged. In fact, after leaving it plugged in another twelve hours, the last battery indicator light was still flashing and wouldn't go solid to indicate a full charge. (Maybe it never goes solid?) Not that it mattered because the fan didn't work. I pushed, held down, pushed multiple times on the power button and nothing. Alas, I am returning it. :(

Probably the most protective mask you can get that's not a full on PAPR
Seriously, this thing is delivering highly filtered air to your face while that same air is pushing out any unwanted unfiltered local air that might otherwise get in through improper sealing of your mask. I am not using the masks it comes with as they are too big for me and they don't have around the head straps, which I find more comfortable and I know to create a better seal (which still matters to me even with the above statement). I cut about 4 different little holes in my preferred mask before I found a spot to attache the hose that didn't result in the part of the tube that goes inside the mask touching my mouth or nose in an uncomfortable manner. If you cut a small hole in your mask the tube is soft enough to squish it to fit through and the inner part of the tube is flanged, so it creates a good seal. This way you can use this with any mask you like (I'm using it with high quality N95s). I wish that the tube was longer so that I could wear the filter on my hip, and I wish that I didn't have to look like a hospital patient or someone wearing a CPAP out in public, but I guess that's the price for safety now that the world has unmasked. I think this will make flying safe now that there is no mask requirement on planes.
