Worth the investment.
Growing up my mother had always had a Zojirushi rice cooker, and I had coveted them for many years before deciding finally to purchase my own. Prior to this, I used a cheap Aroma model which was adequate at best and unreliable / ruined rice at worst. When travel to Japan was shut down and my cheaper rice cooker became less and less reliable, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the 10-cup model (while our family is just three people, we do tend to host large gatherings for family and guests and I wanted the ability to heat/keep rice warm for a crowd and for long periods of time). The price tag on this model is admittedly steep - it is currently the top-of-the-line Zojirushi model available in the US (the highest-end ones on the Japanese market can reach upwards of $1000). Even my husband who is something of a rice connoisseur was skeptical. We initially did two tests with rice we use regularly - Koda Farms Kohuko Rose (our 'daily' rice) and Nanatsuboshi rice from Hokkaido (a premium rice). Both came out absolutely perfect - and after many hours on warm were still delicious and not dried out. The difference between this cooker and my cheap one is significant - even our regular 'daily' rice tasted nearly as good as the premium stuff: sweeter, fluffier, and fragrant. It does take longer than my old rice cooker, but since the quality isn't affected by remaining on warm, I tend to prep in advance. We tried other settings - jasmine (for long grain or basmati rice), brown rice, and had the same excellent results each time. The functions and timer are all intuitive and easy to use - you can set ahead the night before and have perfect rice in the morning for tamago gohan or rice with natto. While I was hesitant to spend the money for this machine I am truly glad I did, it is absolutely worth it for our family's needs.

Fantastic technology
This device is amazing. Perfect rice every time without needing to use a single brain cell. It keeps my rice fresh and hot for up to 12 hours?! Like, what is this sorcery? I can't emphasize how well it makes rice. I honestly didn't think rice could be this good outside of a restaurant.

The one rice cooker to rule them all
It makes perfect rice and sings to you, what more do you want? They're the best brand for a reason!

Simply the best
Look, it's really expensive. It also makes the best rice you'll ever cook with virtually no effort, every time. I replaced a worn-out older induction-cooking model, which made excellent rice. This one makes even better rice, as hard as that may be to believe. Cleanup is slightly more complicated due to the additional pressure-valve parts; however, removal of the parts for cleaning is easier. If you frequently eat rice, this is a worthy investment.

Defective Rice Cooker (Rust Inside After 16 Months)
I purchased from Amazon in December 2024. After only 1 year and 4 months of normal use, I have discovered rust forming inside the unit, along the inner rim. This is extremely disappointing, especially given that the rice cooker cost approximately $500. When I wiped the area, there was a noticeable rust residue and smell. I have owned other rice cookers from your brand in the past, and they have always been reliable and long-lasting. Unfortunately, this newer model has not met the same standard. In addition to the rust issue, I have also found that the rice quality is not as good as my previous models. For clarity, I only use the cooker for making rice and have followed normal usage and care instructions. Given the price and expected durability of your products, I would appreciate a replacement or appropriate resolution for this issue. Please let me know the next steps. I am happy to provide any additional information if needed. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, [Your Name]

I have been through many rice cookers! Our family gatherings are always at grandma’s and grandpa’s house! So a quality and dependable rice cooker is required! Worth the cost!
This was one of my best purchases. I do have to plan ahead, I was used to twenty minute rice now it’s a minimum of sixty It is worth the wait though! Twenty minute rice is ok but not great. I do live this thing though!

It is an amazing rice cooker. Not your average cooker, but it is an investment.
If you are serious about your rice, especially sushi rice, then this is a great purchase. It is spendy but it works great, produces great rice and porridges, and is easy to clean. My last Zojirushi rice cooker lasted over 20 years and still works, just ran out of non-stick qualities. I will take better care of this one, and the non-stick surface is much better than prior materials.

Beautiful cooker, great seller

I had to return it as it’s for American 110V , you can’t use without an additional power adapter for 220 to 110 volt .

This cooker is awesome for sticky rice, comes out perfectly every time! The water markings on the inner pot should be used as a guide. For my taste and a firmer rice I found a bit less water was needed than indicated. Also cooked basmati rice and sushi rice with this and as expected, perfection. The cleaning isn't bad if you wash the rice. When I am done cooking all I need to do is wipe the water/condensation from the inner lid and steam vent components. A paper towel, a quick wipe and it's clean. Haven't tried the timer function yet, no comments.

I am a huge fan of this brand because of their quality. I compared the IH+pressure and IH only. Apart from the time to cook, maybe 10-20% faster with pressure, I feel most other ricing cooking yield close result. Sometimes I may notice a difference when cooking gaba rice, the one with pressure seems to give slight better result.

Definitely more than I would have liked to have paid, but my wife was insistent/you actually can taste the difference between it and other rice cookers... If you maintain it well and it lasts for years, it's not that expensive when spread out over a decade. Will see how long I can make it last
