If you have heard of de Chardin -- this is a MUST READ
I have read several of De Chardin's books over the years and was hesitant to read one that was a "comic book" novel based on his life and the concepts he raised. Now that I have finished reading, I must say it is by far the most helpful in understanding the conflicts his writings raised that I have read in years. I highly recommend it for several reasons: 1] The author, Niels de Terra is very acquainted with the life and writings of de Chardin (his mother was de Chardin's secretary for several years) 2] The author is very educated and to explain to the common reader complex philosophical concepts would be naturally difficult. By using a graphic novel format it is much easier to show the stress of human emotion that the Vatican went through with de Chardin's texts. In a way it is "Classics Illustrated" for todays student of Teihard de Chardin. 3] "Overkill: The Vatican Trial of Pierre..." is an excellent textbook for any student of de Chardin. The conflicts with theologians and philosophers are shown in a "trial" format. With Wikipedia you can quickly research ideas. There is a great Glossary and Bibliography at the end of the text, that any student can use.

Graphic biography of one of the most daring and influential philosophers of the 20th Century
Excellent highly personal biography in graphic format of the extraordinary life of the thought-provoking Jesuit philosopher and paleontologist Teilhard de Chardin. The author's father and mother were close personal friends of Teilhard de Chardin and he traces in great detail the life of this extraordinary thinker. An excellent companion to de Chardin's most influential book The Phenomenon of Man

What a great idea, to write a bio of Theilard as a graphic novel! Definitely get the print edition--the illustrations are fabulous, and harder to see on Kindle. I learned a lot reading this, and enjoyed it thoroughly!

This is a well researched look at the struggle to come to terms with Teilhard's Scientific concerns and Religious beliefs. The Church's struggle to stay true to it's history and dogma also come across clearly. The drawings are exceptional and the print version is of the highest quality.

Fictional trial of Pere Teilhard
This graphic novel begins with a brief biography of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (3 chapters) then devotes the remaining 7 chapters to a fictionalized "trial" in the Vatican of Teilhard's writings. Nice overview of Teilhard's life and controversial views. However, the author did not attempt to summarize Teilhard's cosmology. The book does contain a good glossary of Teilhard's terms.

Opened my mind into THIKING when I listened to a recorded telling of Teillard's "La Messe du Monde". I was 19 years old, and felt I'd just awakened..
years old. Have since read and learned from every book re. FR. De Chardin's wisdom. And this latest way of spreading his gift, is wonderful.

Serious Ideas in Graphic Format
Graphic novels don't often broach as serious a subject as the human journey toward enlightenment. But deTerra and Villafuerte combine their huge talents to create an engaging experience. New ideas run into entrenched beliefs and the result is what you might expect...dents in the machine, and maybe a slight change in its trajectory.
