Golberg Premium USA Made Twisted Nylon Rope - (1/2 Inch x 50 Feet, White)
B**.
Product is poorly represented and packaged.
This nylon rope was purchased for two reasons: a) It was manufactured in the USA, and b) I had intended to order a long length and the product was shown spooled. (Bear in mind this was the most expensive price-per-foot product of its type offered on the Amazon marketplace) When the product was received, much to my disappointment, the 600-foot length was sent simply rolled up in a circle in a clear plastic bag. No spool and no marking on the bag to even indicate that it was, in fact, a 600-foot length! For starters deceptive marketing on the part of the Amazon third-party sellers! Supplied as such, this product was completely unusable. Does the supplier actually expect that an end user should buy a premium product and then have to fight with it for 600 feet? Upon contacting Amazon, they had no method of contacting the seller/supplier or the manufacturer to find out if this situation was the norm or a mistake! God help the poor soul who orders a 1200-foot length! Bottom Line: Regardless of how good or bad this product may or may not be for the price (which is yet to be determined), supplied to the consumer in the manner it was renders this the worst value possible. Your time is more valuable than to fight with long lengths of rope!

Tends to unravel. Very hard to heat-bond the ends.
This stuff unravels like crazy. Just weaving an end through a couple of tarp eyelets resulted in ganglia of frayed ends. Impossible to fix, ya just have to cut-off whatever's frayed. Then, using a BIC lighter to heat-bond the rope's ends is tough. It just doesn't seem to melt well.Anyway, it turns-out there's two types of nylon: Nylon-6 and Nylon-66. Nylon-6 has a lower melting point and is less stiff (it has all the properties of the nylon ropes I've handled: smooth, silky, easy to melt the ends). This Goldberg stuff is clearly made from Nylon-66: a little stiff, unravels with the slightest touch and tough to melt. I just didn't like it for my application.

Don't Cut
I didn't expect the rope to unwind as it did, I've worked with rope when I was a telco repairman, yes I said repairman,we used many types of rope including nylon but this came as a surprise, now maybe I'm just too old & forgetful & otherrope did this but I'd bet it didn't, because if I was lashing one pole to another & it unwound like this one did that would make a long day only longer.

Avoid!
Arrived in a POS box as a heap of 600' of rope. Took 2 people 40 minutes and a whole lot of space to untangle. Avoid this product line from this seller. But wait, there's more. At three spots the rope was frayed, making it worthless for our use.

This is excellent quality rope
I bought 100' of 3/8" for mooring a small boat and other utility use. The messure I use on rope quality is the tightness of the lay, or strands. This rope is hard to the touch, meaning that the manufacturer used all the fibers he could get into 3/8", and twisted it tightly. Low quality rope is soft to the touch.

Buyer beware....
Bought for use as an anchor ride. 600' of Rope arrives loose in a cardboard box not on a spool as described. 3 hours of untangling later and discovering numerous areas where fibers are broken and frayed spots 10/10 will not recommend this product. If I had not absolutely had to have it to fish this past weekend I would have sent the entiretangled mess back immediately.

Nice USA made rope
Very nice looking rope. I used it for an antique yard bell and it made a very nice looking bell and rope mounted on a 4X4 post approx. 7' high. The rope eally calls attention to the black bell!
