AUSDOM AF640 1080P Webcam with Microphone, 90°FOV USB PC Camera Webcam with Privacy Cover, Plug and Play Computer Camera for Online Calling/Conferencing, Zoom/Skype/YouTube, Laptop/PC

After waiting six months for a different product, I decided to buy this Ausdom AF640 webcam. I plugged it into a USB port on my Windows 10 computer and it worked immediately, showing an excellent image in the Windows 'camera' app. As other reviewers have noted, its image is more of a wide-angle view than similar webcams, but not unacceptably so; I saw no noticeable optical distortion like the 'fisheye' effect seen on some webcams. Its color reproduction of my face was natural, which is why I gave five stars for "warmth". Next, I tried the Ausdom webcam live on Zoom. Surprise! Zoom automatically clipped a little of its wider view, so the online result showed more of my face and less of my surroundings. I got fewer HD pixels than I was sending to Zoom, but the result was visually what I wanted. And Ausdom's microphone got my voice just fine on Zoom's record-playback audio test. This webcam's mechanical mounting is nicer than many, with a ball joint that allows left-right adjustment as well as up and down. It even comes with an adhesive-mountable privacy shutter that was designed for it; I attached it in a moment and I'm going to keep it on. Nice job, Ausdom! I recommend this bird-in-the-hand product if you're still waiting for some other bird that's stuck in the bush. The only thing this webcam lacks is the extra software that comes with some other webcams, which you don't need for Zoom. I want to add that I have received nothing, nor will I receive anything, for this review.

The build quality is very good. I installed the camera (just plugged in the USB cord!) and used the Windows 11 built in camera app. This webcam's picture quality is good, and the field of view is adequate for my needs (Zoom/Meets sessions). I can recommend this camera.

Awesome graphics, easy to set up and brightness was easy to change on my computer. Very good quality for cheap. I’ve had it fall a bunch and it still works very good. Easy to move. Focus is awesome. Highly recommend!

Webcams from better-known manufacturers are currently available only from sellers who engage in price gouging during this COVID-19 season, so I decided to take a chance on this AUSDOM AF640. I am definitely pleased. It provides excellent video quality and update rate. The integrated microphone is acceptable although better sound quality is obtained via a dedicated microphone such as the Blue Yeti Nano. The AUSDOM is hot-swappable, so I can move it from one Mac computer to another Mac computer and it is instantly recognized without the need to restart the Mac to achieve recognition (my older webcam was not hot-swappable in this manner). I purchased this webcam based on strong recommendations from European reviewers. I am NOT disappointed with this purchase.

My old Logitech C270 finally gave out after, I guess, heavy usage during the pandemic? Ah, it was just old. I didn't need anything fancy, so I was looking for something in a similar price range and I wanted to go Logitech, but I also heard good things about AUSDOM. Maybe mine's defective or my expectations were too high, but it seems to be either low quality or have trouble focusing. Google meets in chrome or firefox. Zoom. Microsoft teams. It just lacks a sharpness to the image quality. It totally suffices since I'm just using it for work meetings, but otherwise not really impressed.

Several Zoom meetings quickly proved that a phone is a poor substitute for a web cam. The upgrade with this camera is amazing with a wide view, high definition and sharp focus. The sound is also much better. It comes right out of the box ready to use, well almost ready to use . If you can't mount it on the top of your screen you will really need a small tripod, which I fortunately had. This was not the least expensive web cam available, but it looks good and performs flawlessly.

We have been happy with our purchase of this camera for use with video conferencing. Found it to be easy to install and reliable with good sound and video quality for frequent conferencing. Have 9 of them in use in our company and all are working well. Regarding the transaction - received in timely manner packaged in new packing in new quality. Happy with results and have bought same multiple times.

I ordered this camera due to its similarity to a model recommended by an online electronics reviewer. The originally recommended camera/microphone was out of stock everywhere and this seemed like a good substitute. I haven't been disappointed. I want to assure folks that this camera is plug-n-play with Linux. I run Fedora 32 and the camera "just worked" when I plugged it in to a USB slot. The open source "cheese" program works to change the camera's video settings. The microphone is working well, too. I use the setup for Zoom meetings. My voice seems to carry well even when I have a small fan running about 18 inches from the camera/microphone.

The camera works really well and is super easy to install and use.

Avevo letto recensioni lusinghiere in relazione a questa webcam, al punto da paragonarla alla logitech C920. Al momento dell'acquisto la logitech aveva tempi di consegna biblici con prezzi 40euro maggiori... Per cui ho optato per questa. E ne sono rimasto soddisfatto. Buon video, grandangolo non distorto, audio più che dignitoso, e compatibilità con il Mac. Manca solo un copri obbiettivo... Salvo sorprese, 5 stelle su tutta la linea.

Dit is gewoon een prima camera, goede beeldkwaliteit mooie kijkhoek en redelijk goed geluid. Al met al een goede camera voor een zeer schappelijke prijs. De camera is gelijkwaardig aan de Logitech 920.

Ya tenía cámara, pero buscaba un poco más de calidad. El cambio ha merecido la pena, buena calidad de imagen y sonido, y un rápido auto enfoque. Ha valido la pena pagar un poco más. La recomiendo.

Ich habe diese Webcam für Videobesprechungen für die Arbeit und zum Skypen mit der Familie gekauft. Ausschlaggebend war der Preis und die Qualität. Dieses Gerät ist gut verarbeitet, hat eine gute Fixierung und war preislich unter den Geräten von Logitech. Die Bildqualität ist sehr gut. Es funktioniert einfach mittels Einstecken des USB-A Anschlusses. Das Kabel ist für normalen Gebrauch am Arbeitsplatz ausreichend. Für eine Installation bei einer einer TV-Wand, in der die Geräte versteckt sind ist eine USB Verlängerung nicht unpraktisch.
