100 Years of Air Power and Aviation: 5 (Centennial of Flight Series) Hardcover – Import, 1 October 2003

An excellent book, considerably better than 99% of the books which provide an overview of airplanes and aviation. Noted historian and author Roger Launius' review goes into the details. It is far more than a recitation of names and numbers. Instead it provides an analysis of the key developments in each period. I see used copies are available for less than $2 - get one! Warning - this is large, coffee-table-book size. But it is not a book of glossy photos; it has plenty of detailed text.
