Review: Great dashi for a very reasonable price! - This is great for making easy, healthy dashi. The taste is complex, not overly fishy and really incorporates the dried shiitake and kelp. There are a enough bags to make gallons of stock but convenient enough to make a few cups for easy miso. No added msg is a bonus. The bags won't tear or open when boiling. The resealable package is thick and does not allow the scent of the ingredients to escape and helps keep the product fresh. This is a staple in my pantry.
Review: Not bad, but not for me. - This is the better and quicker way to make some dashi stock, without all the nasty additives typical of dried powders. I tried two bags (you get 25 with this purchase) initially in around four cups of boiling water then next batch one bag for that amount of water. Both times I had to add water as the ten minute steeping time, even with the pot covered, lost quite a bit as steam. However, the broth wasn't bad tasting just extremely strong; this type of dashi includes smoked sardine and from the moment you open the package to pull a bag that is all you can smell and subsequently taste. A: Depending on what you're making. For dishes like Oyako-don or Gyudon, I'd say 500 mL per pack (that's like 2 cups). But for miso soup, i'd go with 3

A: I don't know it there is a technical answer to your question.  The best thing to do is to maintain the product in your freezer as soon as you open the bag.  Take out the tee bags from the freezer as needed.

**Q: All of the instructions are in Japanese so can anyone help me out?**
A: Boil the amount of water you need (the bag suggests 400_500ml, but I have done more then that before) place the bag in and let simmer for about 5 mins, then take the bag out and enjoy.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good dashi stock

Nice bonito flakes in this mix for dashi soup stock. Unfortunately, my dog thought it was quite delicious and stole the packet after I opened it. I got one batch of dashi before Fido made off with it, but it was very good. Better than the powder with MSG.
