He scratched off all of his hair, and then the skin got very red and started to bleed. The spray helped to heal the wounds, but I had to cover his neck with a bandage while he kept scratching. I used it twice a day, kept the neck covered, and eventually as the skin started to calm down, he stopped scratching and I took off the bandage. His skin is looking very healthy now and is hair is slowly growing back. This stuff works wonders and I didn't have to take the cat to the vet and spend a fortune, or give him steroids. Since then it has been a battle to get her wound completely healed. I have tried everything. I am an ER Registered Nurse and applied many different techniques to try to get the wound to heal. She ultimately was left with a small lick granuloma over the hardware in the knee. Bella is quite smart, she has learned to bend her cone of shame on couch corners, outsmarts the kong comfort donut, and can remove any dressing I applied (Even in the cone!). Koban, ace wraps, gauze wraps... you name it. I tried it. Ultimately, out of all the dog safe wound care sprays EquiSilver spray had her lick granuloma wound healed within a week with her not having access to ger leg. Doggie pajamas and than later a supportive dog knee sleeve with the EquiSilver wound spray did the trick. As nurse who does wound care on almost a daily basis, I was impressed with this product. It healed a lick granuloma I have been battling for 6 months within a week!! I have included pictures. The first at the beginning of the week, and the second at the end of the week. My problem is my dog has a terrible itch on her head and is frequently scratching a spot raw. This product helps the wound heal. I started putting a child's sock on her back foot so she would not break the wound open. Ideally we would love to find the cause of the itch, but after many dollars and trips to the vet we have not been able to find the cause.
