Great product.
Love this thing. Very sturdy. I have small hands but can just grip it closer to the top. Terrific graduated tensions. Does look like something you'd see at a physical therapist's office.

Great for users of all strength levels.
Excellent in helping with my rehabilitation. Adjustable resistance (from 5 to 150) and easy to use. After using one in physical therapy I had to own my own. Would definitely recommend.

A step above the other common hand grippers
I bought 2 of these seeing they were different than what I had been using for the past 2 years. I was using 2 GD hand grippers but had problems with continually readjusting the resistance. I started using these Jan. 9th of 2026. I noticed right away the resistance/tension of the spring(s) was much different and harder to do. Felt more like "real feel" weights that I would do everyday. A challange for me to do since I am rehabing my left arm from 5 surgeries. I feel stronger with my grip using these hand grippers since these are more challanging to do. Now to the build of these hand grippers that I noticed. These are built better with a heavier steel frame that you can feel when you pick them up. The springs are incremented for resistance and color coded for the resistance you want. The springs resistance is on a label on each side of the gripper. I like the feel of the gripper(s) as I do them. The way these are built is more challanging with the size and shape and how they squeeze together with the spring(s) when you are using them. Now to what I did to overcome the short comings of these hand gripper(s). I noticed and felt the cheap aluminum clevis pins (pins) and the small and cheap clips that are insufficient for the constant "bumping" as you go to the full range of motion. That is as you go to the point of stopping at the widest point of the pins range. I over came this by going to an Ace Hardware store and buying stainless steel clevis pins and stainless steel clips. I bought 1/4 inch pins and 1/4 inch clips which I found in the trailer hitch section. Take the pin you have to make sure it is the correct size. I noticed each "handle" felt wobbly so I checked where they were connected and saw they were fitted in an odd way. Most time joints are fitted that one side is in the inside and the other is on the outside to help stabilize it when they move. I did some work to have this done and now the handles feel more stabile when I do my exercises. Took alot of time and effort and extra cash to get these to perform better and also the new pins and clips will prevent any breaking as you are using these hand grippers. Overall these are worth while to have and are well worth the money you spend on them. These are studier than the other hand grippers and are better built for sure. I do recommend these hand grippers.

Is this the best hand gripper?
When I saw this on Amazon, I could see that this hand gripper was different from most others. Most hand grippers have a short distance between your index finger and the opposite side and a much longer distance between your pinky and the other side. This seems backward since your pinky is the weakest of your fingers. The Stovall hand gripper instead incorporates an almost equal distance with all your fingers. This results in a much more even feel and allows you to contract fully with each squeeze. With all of the included springs, you can adjust the resistance from 5-220 pounds. Previously, I had been using a more traditional hand gripper that had a set 100 pounds of resistance that I couldn’t squeeze all the way. When I switched to the Stovall hand gripper, I used 40 pounds of resistance, which allows me to squeeze it almost all the way—much more movement than my old hand grippers. Instead of counting repetitions, I count the time, and do it for 3 minutes non-stop. This gives great results in gripping strength. By the way, some people have mentioned the little clips that hold the springs and caution you not to lose them. So I went to a hardware store and brought one of the clips to compare with. I purchased 6 of them for $1.20. Problem solved.
