Works as described, good form factor, easy enough to program
20210220 Update:Has worked flawlessly in continuous service since purchase.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------20181109: From Electrical Engineer: Came in a package with "Woods" logo. Like what you would see hanging on a shelf at HD. Rated 10A 1250 Watts resistive load, significantly lower for inductive load. One note of caution, outlets do not have a ground pin. These are likely not suitable for running high power loads such as heaters, air conditioners, refrigerators and other appliances with motors or safety related equipment. Allows for 2 on/off settings per day. Interior use only. I have not opened them up to judge whats inside, yet, but both units came to me still running on their battery. Remarkably, the time was already set (Eastern time zone) and only different by a couple of minutes. I was able to set them up (required reading instructions, but I will probably remember how to do it next time) and they worked exactly as desired to perform a sequenced power reset for my cable modem and router at 4AM. The timer resolution is 1 minute. I happened to be up watching TV and the cycle occurred just as planned. There are a number of posts here indicating that they fail after a few months. Likely due to power surges and overloads, so mine are on a UPS and driving low power loads. Will update if they ever experience early failure. Appear to be using solid state switching instead of a relay. (no click sound) If you are wondering about why I need to power cycle my Modem/router, then you must have commercial gear. Home units are mostly all garbage. At least in my case, the configuration of the wall warts and outlets (which were both different) allowed for plugging into the UPS without any mechanical blocking issues. Made in China, of course.

Good for house plant grow lights
I use this for small 12 watt grow lights for my house plants. I have had a 4 timer i got 5 years. They still work, so I got a new one for more lights. I have also used it for a small heat pad to turn on at night.I cannot speak about it working for other applications, but for this light use, I am very happy. Settings are not intuitive, but it does work after fiddling with it to figure it out.Keep in mind the wattage of the application of this timer. Tungsten watts for lights. Do not exceed the max. I dont even get close to the max, which is maybe why they last so long for me.I am happy with the quallity, though not the highest, it works and it's right for the price.

Once You Figure Out How to Set Them, They Work Great
I have used these for more than 5 years now. I didn't want a mechanical timer because they sound like an egg timer and in a quiet room you always have that motor sound running which I did not like. These are super cheap so I decided to give them a try. The first pair I bought I damn near gave up on using them because I found the instructions hard to follow, and while trying to adjust it for things like daylight saving time I kept messing it up and would get frustrated. I even stopped using one for a while because I could not figure it out again after losing the instructions. But then I found a good YouTube video tutorial by a random individual, and now I have the hang of setting them again.Once one gets the hang of setting these, the features are nice and get the job done. I appreciate the accuracy of being able to set them to the exact time instead of a rough estimate which you have to do with a mechanical timer which often you can only set to the nearest 15 or 30 minute intervals. These units have an internal battery so it keeps track of the time even during a power failure which is really convenient. The battery lasts seemingly forever too. I left one unused and unplugged for at least a year, and was totally surprised the battery was still working and keeping track of time after all that time. The one feature I wished they included was a daylight saving feature (God I hate daylight saving!)... so twice I year I have to go around and adjust the timing by an hour. So, overall review these are good enough, once you figure them out. I found a YouTube video made them easier to figure out than the instructions they come with. And the price is great for the overall quality. I use these for my fish aquarium which I need a couple of timers for for things like lights and pumps to kick on and off at certain times. I also use them for Christmas lights so I do not have to burn them 24 hours a day because I am too lazy to shuffle around the house to manually turn them on and off everyday.Probably in the future I will upgrade to more advanced units I can control with the internet, but they are more expensive, and then in the age of smart home devices you have to worry about security from hackers. But those timers do have more features such as automatically adjusting to daylight saving or sunset and sunrise as it changes throughout the year, and also the ability to control them from outside the house.

Convenient and Reliable Timer
Recently, I incorporated the Woods 50027WD In-Wall 24-Hour Digital Countdown Timer into my home system. It's a helpful tool with several benefits, though with a few minor issues.Pros:Offers precise control over devices with its 24-hour countdown feature. The white design blends well with most interior styles.Easy to install with clear instructions provided.Saves energy by ensuring devices are on only when needed.Cons:Programming the timer can be slightly complex at first. The display could be brighter for easier reading. The buttons are a bit small, which might be an issue for some.A backup battery feature would be beneficial in case of power outages. My conclusion:The Woods 50027WD In-Wall 24-Hour Digital Countdown Timer is a beneficial tool for managing devices at home. Despite minor usability issues, it's a reliable product that contributes to energy efficiency. It's worth considering if you're looking to automate your home devices.

Better than mechanical - easy to set, recommend!
Don't know what other reviewers are complaining about. I purchased a single pack of these last year at Walmart for $15 to control my aquarium lights. Now that I purchased a green killing machine UV sterilizer, I decided to see if Amazon had these timers, and to my luck they had a two pack for $25... which is cheaper since you save $5 by buying two of them at once, so now I can control my UV sterilizer and my air pump. These are the best... what more can you ask for? I know that you can't set certain days of the week, but for what I need, I need it the same every day anyways. I find them easy to set (the instructions clearly tell you what to do) and they have battery back up so there is no need to constantly reset your schedules. I find them the best, and way better than the mechanical ones because they are digital. I don't like mechanical ones because they are never accurate. Plus when the power goes out it messes everything up. At least digital ones are accurate. When I want something to turn on at a specific time, I want it to turn on at that time, not 5 mins after. I also like the space saving design - you can fit two on one outlet so they don't hog up all the room even if you just use one. Overall, I am very happy Amazon sells these, and I will continue to purchase them from here. I recommend these to everyone!

Excellent Timer For Rebooting Modems and Routers
This little timer is an excellent device and the price is right.. I set it up to reboot my router daily at 5 AM.. Routers/Modems must be rebooted to keep them refreshed and this keeps them running at optimum speed. Most people don't think of it. When the internet slows down a quick reboot usually does the trick.. This little timer is ideal for this task and it took me about 5 minutes after I took it out of the package to get it working properly... Thanks Woods for this nice little unit and thanks Amazon for a speedy delivery..Product Update: 05 May, 2017: Since purchasing these timers., I have had 2 of them fail to turn on the power at the selected time.. Altogether I have purchased 9 of them for various timed projects.. Will keep updating as time goes on..Product Update: 01 June 2017: No more issues with these little timers.. Returned the 2 defective ones.. Rest of them are working flawlessly and I would highly recommend these.
