I really gave them a try. I was hyped up to get the nice pattern for those crispy edges on the grill. But thats not how it went at all nightmare purchase. Does it look cool yeah but using it thats another story. Not as smooth as I thought it was gonna be. I had to use my whole weight and lift my arms to really press down and make the marks. It ended up costing me more too. It doesn't work on regular small hot dogs from Walmart . The cutter goes right through them almost cuts them into small pieces. I had to buy bugger Winnies to be able to even press down and leave some marks. After making all those changes and having to use the strength of hulk it does do its job and looks nice. Its just not practical for me

Stumbled into this product and bought it on a whim. Wow, no regrets. This thing is great! Boring, plain old hot dogs suddenly new and exciting again! Pro-tip: read the instructions! It mentions placing the hot dogs in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before using the Slot Dog. Very cold to slightly frozen meat is much easier to cut with a knife because its form and doesn't "squish", and this same principle greatly improved the Slot Dogs performance, and made an already easy-to-use product even easier. This device works well on regular dogs, and even those monster Coney Island style dogs. Instructions say not to use it on bratwurst and uncooked sausage, I can totally see why after using it just once. Cleanup isn't difficult, I turned up the temperature to scald and hosed it down in my sink. I tried hot dogs dry rubbed, and I tried wet dogs too! I smothered mustard or BBQ sauce into the dog grooves and no matter what I try the effect is profound. They come out looking cool and tasting great. The way they puff up into that texture makes a great surface for a heap of chili to sit in, and a great place to capture melty cheese without topping sliding off. Slot Dog is a barbecue game changer for sure!

This is awesome!! We got it and use it that night at the fore to roast our hotdogs and sausages. It allowed us to heat our food better and have the prefect cut lines!! Easy to easy and easy to clean.
