FAV incense
i wish it had a little stick so I could stick it on things, but otherwise the most perfect scent. Feels ceremonial and lasts, very calming. Very sophisticated

Mild soothing scent
I like the idea of incense. I can have a brief focus time getting it set up and lit and try to take a few moments of relaxation before returning to whatever I was working on. The (usual) problem: most incense is so terribly strong and way too yuck-perfumey for me. These cypress sticks do not have that problem. At all. They have a "natural" (non-perfumey) woody scent. They are much more mild than a sandalwood stick. I didn't know what cypress would smell like (I guessed it might be pine-y?) but after receiving and burning several sticks it is like a brief, not oversaturated, clean log scent without the distinctive "pine" scent you might get from burning sappy pine. It's also less aromatic than burning cedar. It has a fresh woodburning scent that doesn't scream "campfire" either. The sticks burn quickly but there are ton in this package so it is still a great value. I am pleased and intend to reorder when my supply starts to get low.

Namu Myoho Renge Kyo!
I absolutely adore the Ka-Fuh line of incense. Japanese incense is the highest quality incense on earth. These are called 'less smoke' incense sticks, which is achieved through each stick of incense having no actual wooden 'stick'. Each rod of incense is pure pressed incense. You can burn them in a ceramic burner or lay flat on a bed of ashes. I would not recommend burning them in a wooden incense burner. The less smoke by no means means less scent. All of the Ka-Fuh line leave wonderful, bright, scents that travel through your home, without exuding a plethora of smoke. Which I greatly appreciate, being as I can't make toast without setting off my smoke detector! The Hinoki (cypress) scent is my particular favorite. A lot of the common incense scents available in stores are overly fake, sweet and pungent. This line of incense, and the hinoki scent especially have a deep, earthy, natural scent that leaves your home with a pleasing ambiance of the fragrance. Highly recommended!

Smells great, burns well
It smells like Cypress, is very subtle and lovely, and burns well—one of my favorites. The Goetia Demon Leraje prefers Cypress, and he seems to approve. My only complaint is that these do not have a stick at one end that fits into the standard-sized hole on most incense stick holders/burners. Fortunately, my holder has two holes, so I drilled one out slightly larger (1/32" bit), and now it fits perfectly. I understand that one of the selling points is "Japanese craftsmanship." I agree that these are well-crafted and aesthetically pleasing, but incense sticks with a mounting stick are more practical for many reasons.

My favorite Japanese incense sticks!
I have a passion for incenses and Japanese made have a specific place in my heart. This incense has a subtle aroma, reminiscent of a mixture of bonfires in the woods and the smell of a temple in the sacred cypress (hinoki) forest. Unlike other incenses (for example popular brands from India), it does not leave a smoke screen. Pure elegance! !!! Important: These sticks have no wooden base and incense holder is not included, please make sure you have a specific and safe one. Thanks for reading, I hope you’d enjoy them and share this joy with me 🖤

Not as good as their other scents.
I tried 2 of this companies other scents and really liked them. The white plum and aqua scents were really mild with a light fragrance. The cypress is like standing next to a camp fire. Not a pleasing smell and way too strong.

A "too advanced" incense?
My wife loves incense - she has a dozen different scents, each one with a distinct scent profile that even I can pick up. Our kitchen and bath often smell like a buddhist temple - in a really warm and welcoming way. She was ecstatic when we ordered this Cypress Hinoki scent - it was on her wishlist. Unfortunately, the scent was not really exciting - the scent seemed off, a bit dull, and overall not as pleasant. It came with pretty bad packaging (very loosely packed - a bit dangerous for brittle sticks) which also became moist during the transport, so maybe it was caused by that. We usually trust the brand (Nippon Kodo), so I will count this as a one-off, but still raise it here, in case there is a batch issue.

Great incense
Smells great and doesn’t release too much smoke. I have bad allergies and it doesn’t seem to trigger it so that’s a plus as well.
