I can say I have a job site that has 440 foot runs with CAT5E and it works fine. **Q: Can these be used on outside security cameras?(** A: simply, yes. BUT, being exposed to the weather they won't last long. Best to make sure they (the cabling) can be tucked away either up in a soffit, to the inside of a wall or best, placed in a backbox. Usually when using cameras outside on a wall you use a backbox specifically for the purpose of protecting the cabling. So when you quote a job always count the external cameras and add the same amount of backboxes if you can't tuck the cabling inside something like a soffit. **Q: Can this work with nvr cameras?** A: No. This is for BNC type cameras to be run over CAT5 cables.
