Great Read if You want to know how Freddie and the band all started.
This book was very interesting. It was carefully researched and there was a lot of material describing Freddie's early life up to his death and all of the steps the band took to become one of the best all time bands out there. There was a few places that dragged a bit with all of the info. you were given and could have been shortened with ultimately the same understanding. But overall, if you want to know about Freddie Mercury, Queen, and their steps to rise to the top, this book should keep you interested to the end.

GOOD BOOK BUT NOT ALWAYS FACTUALLY CORRECT
Enjoyed this. From what I read of Freddie's autobiography, I believe this book greatly exaggerated Freddie's cocaine use. Brian May has said the same thing about press stories. The man did use it sometimes, but he was not this addict doing lines of Coke all over the place. So, all in all, Iiked this book. I am a huge Freddie Mercury fan. I will never five-star anything about him because nothing can do him justice.

If you're a Freddie Mercury fan, this book is for you.....
Outstanding book. Cried at the end. Very touching. Yes Freddie lived a very active life behind closed doors and people viewed him as a bad person. He had a big heart for everyone. Sadly too many took advantage of his kindness. He kept his tenderness well hidden by his rough and ready performance. He truly was the "The Great Pretender. " Not to leave out he had alot of foresight into the music industry and was a brilliant musician. I wonder what he'd think of today's music.... Recommend this book to anyone who is a Freddie Mercury/Queen fan.

What’s not to like if you like Queen?
This was interesting all the way thorough from beginning to end. I was so intrigued that it took me less than a day to read and I would reread many areas of the book that caught my interests. Very organized and the author really researched his life. You will definitely know more about Freddie and how he may have thought about his career and his relationships.

A powerful voice
If you are really interested in early English rock history this is an interesting read. So many people do not remember or appreciate what a performer and singing force Freddy was. This is a great chronicle of his life. It is written in an easy to read style. He was a heck of a force on stage. This book is best read along with viewing many of the Queen and Freddy Mercury videos.

rare and fare story of freddie for a change
the only book about freddie mercury which is for a change fare and dignified. ive read all others and find only this book thzt is fair and void of temptation to concentrate on details of his sex life. the man was a unique musical legend with all exceptional gifts to create and run an empire. who cares what he did in his bedroom? this book to some extent addresses those. yet it still does notg fully approach those areas. we still need to know more about his busiess chaqllenges and how he succeeded. we need to know more about those who haunted him all the way. meanwhile this is the best of all thosd books around so far, well done

Book about Queen and Freddie Mercury but not what I was expecting
The book is good in giving details about Queen releases, tours... which is interesting but I did not find so much information about Freddie. The author seems to have done a good research about the band but I was hoping to get a bit more personal information about Freddie, more of his conversations and views. There are some of these in the book but not enough for what I was looking for. The book is ok although I found a couple of the author's personal judgements inappropriate.

A well written biography.
This is a very interesting and well written biography of a fantastic artist. I found my attitude towards hom varying from admiration for his talent and energy to astonishment at his foolishness.

Interesting life
Like a lot of people, I watched his performance at Live Aid and thought it was absolutely fantastic. What an incredible performer. So was interested to read this well written book about him. He certainly had a mad, full life.

The truth.
I liked the book, but some of the information contradicts quite a lot from the film. However on the whole it was interesting! I still love Freddie Mercury and all the guys who made up Queen, the best band ever!!
