Good quality the axes are impressive.
Follow up, several months later and we are still throwing these. I am about to buy another set. I would also like to state that once you learn how to throw the knifes and axes, purchasing a higher quality (harder) steel also makes sense. You will miss less and stick more, that means less chance to break them. Original: We, my yeating family, really like the axes. They come sharp enough to actually cut you if you get careless. When you add that to the weight of these axes it means they will stick into wood it you hit it. They are amazingly easy to throw, once you get you distance set, all three of us were sticking them on every throw. The knives of of the same quality and have good weight to them, I was concerned after reading the reviews that they would break. They held up to me, and I throw hard! The draw back to the knives is, dull does not begin to explain it. It is like a steel bar that has been smoothed to avoid scratching the user, and then one end drawn to a point. The tip will pierce the skin with little effort, the rest of the blade would literally smash butter as you tried to get it from a container to butter your bread. For training I highly recommend both. I can get the knives to stick about 75% of the time, probably closer to 85-90% if I sharpen them. But from a training point of view, their weight makes up for the sharpness. I bought these to train, and learn to throw. I am getting my grip and form down with them so they are doing their job well. Drawbacks: If you think that steel used in a throwing blade should never bend or chip, you are wrong, the blades need to flex or they will break. This is the quality of steel I expected for the set. After several hours of throwing (actually it is the missing that messes them up) we acquired some small folds in the edges of the axes, these are minor and about 5 minutes of work per axe with a wet stone smoothed out the jagged parts enough to not snag on anything. To remove the marring completely would need removing about 1/32-1/16 of an inch. We are just going to throw them again so they do not need to be perfect. So the fact that they are a soft steel and need maintenance sucks, but it is necessary. Knives: same thing as above with the steel. The thing is, I will be sharpening these soon. The fact that they didnโt even pretend to put a cutting edge on them means I need to take them to the grinder to put a rough edge on them. Literally, there is no edge, the knife slopes to a point but it is impossible to cut yourself on them. If not for the point I would give them to a toddler and let them throw them. Bottom line: I grew up buying the cheapest thing around or making my own stuff. That said, I have thrown sheet metal thick throwing stars and knives, to small yet decent โbeginnerโ quality knives. Camping axes and hatchets, along with drywall hammers. Short of buying professional grade axes and knives, this is the best I have ever purchased!

Perfectly balanced, heavy thick metal, not your flimsy China Made
I expected something with the S&W name on it to be good quality, and I was not disappointed. One of the rare companies that still believes quality is more important than quantity. The knives are the perfect length for over, side, and underhand throwing. Perfectly centered, the fly true from the handle or the blade. Your call. The metal is almost 1/8 an inch thick, and it will not bend or break. In fact, these blades might snap cheaper quality blades in half if they hit them on the target. The axes are also perfectly balanced, and with the front and top of the axe sharpened, with the tail spike on the end, you are almost guaranteed to stick if you hit the target. The addition of a bottle opener is cute. Drinking and throwing axes seems to be the new thing.

Cheap and unhardened steel but fun can be had.
I just got these a couple days ago and threw them at a tree just to kind of test them out before my real target gets made. They have chipped/rolled metal on the edges already as shown in the picture. For the price? You get what you pay for... 6 pieces for 60ish bucks means each is about a 10 dollar piece so rolling and chipping is certainly expected. Just be aware that these are not the strongest blades in the world before ordering! There is still fun to be had if expectations are where they should be with this in mind. Overall, They're fun and I enjoy them but they're not the most well made tools either! I'm still having fun with them and they stick nicely when thrown well. Just temper expectations for what these are!

Superior Set
These things work so well. It's hard to get them to not stick. They come extremely sharp! I cut myself pretty bad, just picking them up off the bed after taking pictures of them when they were brand new. I was super bummed when I threw one into a soft piece of fir and the corner bent on one of the hatchets. It doesn't even seem possible, but somehow it curled the whole corner

Amazing and a lot of fun
I was taught to throw axes traditionally (wooden handled axes with one face where you had to rely on rotations to stick it if youโre a beginner DO NOT start with these start with an old fashioned throwing hatchet these will develop bad habits for newbies. With that being said these are like if John wick decided he only wanted to use blades as any angle of the axe will stick to wood so itโs really hard to miss as well as the balance of the weight makes it really really easy to accurately throw the knives werenโt as great but the axes are quality

Handle Broken
Though I own several Smith and Wesson "products" and have been notjing but pleased with them. This hatchet and knife set has failed. 10 minutes into throwing at my normal target the handle as seen in the picture completely broke off. They have decent weight and edge however I'm very disappointed. Definitely would not purchase again. Can anyone point me in the direction for a refund?

These are great so far
These are great and pretty durable after about 500 throws. Only a few scratches and chunked corners from hitting another axe in the target. Just had to grind down and resharpen. Great product for the money. I would definitely buy again!

Great set!
I like them a lot, and the axes fly amazingly well. As for the knifes, I don't have the skills to throw them yet, but they look ok.

Beaux produits mais non fonctionnels
Autant les haches que les couteaux sont difficiles ร lancer. Les haches sont trop courtes et pas assez lourdes. Les couteau se lancent mieux mais ils sont trop courts.
