These are true unisex. I'm a 75 year old man. I could find essentially the same cargos marketed for men. Button and zipper on same side. The men's version don't come in good colors. I like these cause elastic in waist so don't need a belt. They come in my length 29". I don't need to alter. After I wore a few time: Very comfortable, my huge cell phone in wallet case will fit in the 4 front pockets, also good for glasses case. I like the buttons on the cargo pockets. I keep the inner one buttoned and my phone does not fall out. Much better than velcro. Don't use rear or calf pockets. No more fanny pack.After a few weeks I bought the camouflaged for working around the house. Don't want to stain the green. I do a lot of DIY. Sitting on the ground I appreciate the room in the seat and crotch. Sometimes my pants will get wet like washing cars with spray hose. That's when I discovered my key fob with house keys fit easily in the little zipper pocket. NOT JUST A ORNAMENTAL DECORATION Very functional. The pants do well in the wash. The green has not faded. Just shake them out when taken out of the dryer hot. Looks good for going to doctor or market. My wife irons the green if I going to wear them to church.Now I'm looking at the women's dress/business trousers. Their almost identical to the pleated suit pants I wore 30 years ago. Just looking for the right fabric.
