Very interesting to read. Violence was and still is in existence today, and I got a real good look through its book, the working,s of organized crime. Ruthless people, and today they are still going strong,in different ways. EXCELLENT BOOK

If you can't get enough Mafia history, then this book is for you. Much detail and minutia about the Mafia history in Sicily. Well written. Not Mafia 101; more like Mafia 320. It is helpful to know the basic background before reading this book.

Informative however in certain respects to the mall between 1950 and 1990 I think they could've gone into more details and made it more of a story instead of kind of a list. That's why I gave it four stars instead of five stars but you learn a lot and it's enjoyable reading.

Well done. Very complete, concise and would recommend to those who enjoying reading about mob history. Paints a picture from the beginning to current times.

This book is the best I ever read,they don't glamorous them,only the facts.This is written,on 10September 1931maranzano invite luciano to his main office on the ninth floor of the helmsley building.Leona Helmsley was my husband boss,( he was sixteen years older than me) he told me,the mafia have meetings on her buildings,they feel save.they want to placed bugs,Leona refused,she told them,if I let you do that I will be dead,she ended in jail for taxes,she gave millions in charity.she was very wealthy but she was afraid for her life,rich and poor,mafia was very powerful.we all know that.Thelma.

It's entirely possible that every name and fact on the subject are contained in this book, but it is written at an eighth-grade level, which is funny as the writing style has all the passion of a report done by an eight-grader. It is not uninformative, but it is almost entirely uninteresting. I definitely do NOT recommend this book.

An informative and compelling book, well researched and written with lots of surprises. This history of the Mafia names names and is all encompassing. Highly recommended!

This book was an amazing look at how the mafia started and its reach spanned around the world. I couldn't put it down.

Great book. A proper history of each mafia boss and their families. Riveting read and hard to put down. Probably one of the best I've read. Would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting the history of the Mafia in Sicily but also the American Mafia . Great read
