AWFUL AND DANGEROUS!! First time I used it I was alone, within minutes of it being on I started coughing uncontrollably and found it very difficult to breathe. Although very concerning I didn't initially relate it to this unit. Symptoms subsided after it was turned off though. Next time it was used there were two of us in the room, again both of us started coughing, this time to the point we were choking and again both of us suffered with trouble breathing, which again subsided after the unit was switched off. Tonight we had friends over, switched the unit on to cool the room down a bit and again within minutes all four of us were coughing uncontrollably and constantly and yet again we all found it difficult to breathe. Turned it off and the symptoms subsided for all four of us. Cannot be coincidental that on the three occasions it has been used, that it has practically choked everyone present, so much so that we all had to retreat to the garden for air. Not sure if I was just unlucky and got a faulty unit but as far as I'm concerned the one I was sent is DANGEROUS. I have never, ever bothered to write a review for any of the 100s of products I have purchased on here but am so concerned about this one I felt obliged to.

I’m quite disappointed in this product I read all the reviews and some were bad but thought there were good reviews and it was pretty good For what it is for the money, well if I sat about 30 cm away from it it was ok but any further than that i didn’t feel the cool air I put a temperature gauge a meter away from it and even that after 2 hours didn’t seem to of gone down please do not waste your money on it unless you are sitting at a desk in your office

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  So I ordered two without even trying this. The reviews read well so I went for it. I have spent a day testing one. Basically the fan blows cool air but the benefit of the filter (having put in the freezer for a short while) really is effective. Don't expect to cool down a large room. This is not powerful enough. It is powered by USB (lengthy lead included but you need to provide your own supply. I used an old phone charger). The three settings are demonstrated in my video. Maximum is quite loud. The lowest setting is very quiet. The right hand button operates the top lights. You have an array of colours to choose from but if you keep the button pressed for a couple of seconds the colours scroll (demonstrated in my video). It's a great night light. In the video you can see me struggling to put the filter back in. It actually wasn't difficult but I make it look fiddly. It really isn't. I originally wanted one for my recording studio (a small bedroom with electronic gear that gets quite uncomfortable, especially with hot weather. This will sit on one of my units taking up very little room and a massive benefit for my creativity. Adding water to the back compartment (as in my video) you can use this as a mini air conditioner adding moisture to the air in the room. Additionally cold water would be even more effective. Holds 500 ml (I believe) of fluid. For the price it seems a brilliant little idea and I'm sure next year I might be tempted to buy a couple more.

Unless it's 5inchs away from you, it really won't do much cooling. My asthmatic cat blows harder than this.Waste of money.

What shall I start by saying noisy rattling and it is louder than a fridge sent back same day.It’s a computer fan technology did come and resolved a noisy fan why they use a noisy fan specially you need it next to you to feel cool so that noise is buzzing in your head

The best to date, easy to clean, no replacement filters needed.This cooler uses foam radiator fins as opposed to others that use paper. As a result you don't need to buy replacement radiator filters. It's a case of simply washing them. You can also stick the damp foam pads in the freezer to gain extra cooling (nice in this current heat)With this one you can visibly see the water vapour being emitted from the cooler.Obviously it's not an air conditioning unit so don't expect it to cool a room, but for sticking on your desk and having a nice cooling breeze - this wins hands down.

Please do not waste your money on this piece of junk ! It is basically a pc fan that on setting 3 (ie the only speed you will ever use ) is so noisy its ridiculous! Its even louder than my 16" oscillating fan !If you are the size of a mouse and can sit within 2 inches of the vents then it will keep you cool ,but even freezing the filters,adding ice to the water etc,the cooling effect will not be felt from any more than 4-5 inches away at best !All these 5 star reviews is typical of amazon these days,firms pay you to give there rubbish products glowing reviews in exchange for freebies ! AVOID !

My son was pleased with this to begin with, he carefully unplugged it after every use so that it could sit flush against the wall and not get damaged, however, it seems to be of flimsy construction and the wire socket in the back of the unit has pushed into the unit and now he is unable to use it. I would have expected it to have lasted longer than 5 months on intermittent use. According to Amazon I can't return it now, so how do i get a replacement or a refund please?
