JET Vortex Cone Dust Collector (DC-1200VX-BK1)

At 1200 CFM, this moves some air. It works well. I wall mounted it with a custom metal bracket and have it hooked up to a grizzly g0863 cyclone separator. Great suction. I went up into the attic (10.5' ceilings) and made a drop on the other side of the two car garage. I have a belt/disc sander combo that is also hooked up to the dust collector and there is a enough suction over there for dust. The only weird thing is that they have a 6" inlet into the impeller, but then a 5" outlet into the filter. I would imagine that the 5" outlet limits airflow.

I got my Jet dust collector today. The first thing I'd like to say it is well packed. There were some dents on the box but inside no damage. After checking if everything is there I started to sweat a little, I did not see a base. It was "hidden" below packing styrofoam at the very bottom of the box. All parts are well made and it is clear the manufacturer paid attention to detail. Setting it up is easy. The manual is very good. No need to "translate " it to English first. It took me an afternoon to complete everything but it was only because I decided to have dedicated power line for this thing in my basement shop. I wanted 230VAC unit because it draws half of the current (8Amps) so I needed to add 2 pole 20Amps circuit breaker and some new wiring. The assembly of the collector took about 2 hours. I bought the unit with 30 micron bag just because of lower price. Money I saved were enought to buy a 0.5 micron canister filter from a third party. JET has also canister filter but they say it filters up to 2 micron dust which I feel is not good enough. Other than that I feel I have a tool which meets all my requirements. What influenced my decision to purchase JET collector was a fact that they were the only one to publish on their web site ALL specifications you need to know when designing a dust collection system. So far I am a happy camper and certainly hope this thing will keep my small shop free of any dust. Whether it will also improve a quality of my work is yet to be seen.

This 220V 2HP Jet dust collection system has more than enough suction for the cabinet saw, planer and jointer I have hooked up to it. The included mobile base is critical for my small shop, because I have to move the dust collector, the saw, the planer or the jointer around to create enough space to use one tool at a time. So far, it has proven to be a good value for a powerful, and effective, dust collector.
