An excellent compost, as you would expect from Miracle-Gro.You receive a 40 litre bag. Not the biggest, but a very useful size. It weighs approx 12kg (almost 2 stones), so bare that in mind if you have trouble lifting.That's enough compost for, 8 x 9(23cm) inch pots. 4 x 10 (25cm) inch pots.1 x 17 (43cm) inch pot, or 6 x 12 (30cm) inch hanging baskets.I've only used it to pot up seedlings, but I'm sure it would be fine to germinate seeds.It has a really nice crumbly, friable texture.Where it stands out compared with other composts, is the inclusion of the feed pellets, which contain everything thing you need for strong healthy, leave, root and flower growth. All the required nitrogen and phosphates are here, as well as all the other necessary minerals.I've used it to pot up my tomato seedlings into 6 inch (15cm) pots, and in the 10 days that they've been in, they've absolutely shot up. Going from 4cm tall, to now over a foot high (30cm). Very impressive. (Photo)The compost does contain a wetting agent, but try to make sure it doesn't dry out, as re-wetting is always a nightmare. Make sure you roll the top of the bag over when you've taken out the compost you need.Weight it down with a stone, to make it as air tight as you can.Overall, I'm really happy with this compost. It is more expensive than many generic types, but the included nutrients, make it a first class growing medium.I shall happily buy again when needed.Just to confirm, my order was fulfilled by Amazon, and I received Miracle Gro compost. It seems if you purchase from another seller, what you receive could be a bit of a lottery.I hope you found this review helpful.

Excellent product

Bought this soil because of the amount and the price seemed great. I bought it for indoor plants and was great at first and I still have alot left over from doing reporting.Unfortunately I now have an infestation of root rot knats. I never had a problem with them before at all and they are now everywhere and have caused damage to quite a few of my plants as well as being completely annoying as they just get everywhere with no obvious agenda other than to fly about and die in the most inconvenient of places.I've now had to buy a treatment to get rid of them so hoping this works because the sticky yellow things just get filled up without seeming to make any impact of the little invaders.
