Poor quality, Thin material
As an avid gardener I decided I would like to start keeping track of named iris & daylily & hostas so like any other shopper during a pandemic I decided to browse Amazon.I wanted good value yet good affordable pricing since I needed to purchase 200+ Garden labels so undecidedly I ordered 2 brands after reading reviews. My review is based on quality & price availability. There is about a 10 cent difference between the 2 products per piece. The OK5Star being the lesser price. Then name plates are a HUGE difference in quality. OK5Star is smooth, heavy and durable. The GardenMate brand it very thin and pliable with a rough gritting surface. I highly doubt it would last more than 2 winter in my zone 6. It is very flimsy. Definitely not worth the 10 cents more per piece it costs. The the stake however is the better of the 2. It is thick and sturdy. Well made. Unfortunately the name plate is the most important part and that is an epic fail in my opinion for quality. The OK5Star had the thinner diameter and heaviness of the stakes, shorter and more flat appearances than the GardenMate which is angled more for better viewing of marker plates once in the ground. That being said, the markers will not change location but the names of items may over the years and to be able to reuse(relabel) items on the name plates I can live much better with a lesser quality ground stake over a poor quality name plate. Ideally if this garden stake name plate could be the quality of OK5Star it would be a 100% quality item. Too bad the name plates are not made as well as the ground stakes the go on. I give it👎 & 2 stars at best for quick shipment and great quality of garden stake but zero quality for actual garden label plates. See photos. I will be returning these and purchasing more from OK5Star.

Perfect garden markers
I wasn't sure about these prior to ordering but something my wife wanted. These appeared to be the same thing Burpee sells, but less expensive and free shipping so we gave it a shot. The metal plates are lightweight and easy to assemble. What you really need to do is print on some clear adhesive labels from your computer and adhere that to the metal plate. We had some Avery labels (80/sheet) that worked really well with an inkjet printer. I figure we'll be lucky to get one season out of the clear labels but the metal plate should last much longer. Since we use these for vegetables and "non-specimen" items, that is more than sufficient for us as we'd be rotating things anyway. That being said, we had a hard rain where I figured the printed label would smear, fall off, or otherwise have issues and it did not. This would not be the fault of the GaredenMate product but the reality was it hasn't been an issue yet anyway.

Best bang for the buck, excellent quality
Set out to get the best permanent garden markers in my budget, and I feel certain I made the right choice. Very pleased with these GardenMate markers!Weatherproof, high quality metal, easy to paint (or apply printed stickers), easy to assemble, sturdy stakes that are angled for easy viewing, excellent length and large enough to add graphics and large letters.Highly recommend.

Garden Plant Labels
Love these. Very good quality.Needed to identify where I tuck new perennials around the farm (so we don't accidentally dig them up...again...as I've done before because I forgot I planted something the year prior). Also used to identify where line of veggie seeds start and end since some veggies require different feed / water.I followed the suggestion of some other reviewers and used clear mailing labels vs. writing on the plate - printed the plant name along with other details like date planted and approx harvest date for veg. When I pulled the stakes out of the garden, I removed the label so all I had to do was clean them up and store them for next year. Labels left a little bit of sticky residue but not worried about a new label sticking next year.Would order again, though with 25 don't think I will need to soon! Expect they will last a long time.

Super cheap not worth the $
These are not worth $1 each. If you handle them wrong they crinkle. I'm so disappointed with how flimsy they are. The steaks that go into the ground are also cheap and bend easily. I'll be returning and requesting a refund.

Not as advertised
ad says to use a permanent marker, which I did, I used a Sharpie with the words PERMANENT on the pen. in less than 10 days the wording on the marker has completely faded from the sun. . the company should package a pen with the zinc labels they are confident will not fade. the metal is thin, & I don not know yet if they will rust or hold up. not a quality product.

Best Answer I've Found
I have extensive gardens so cutesy little markers won't cut it. I've tried all sorts of labels- wood rots (even if I've varnished it), Sharpie marks on plastic tags disappear. I now use a label maker to make labels for these metal plant markers. They last pretty much forever. and are easy to read. They're a great help for me, especially in the spring when plants are just starting to pop up and I'm not sure what is where or if something coming up is something I even planted. I'm also at an age where it's getting harder to remember the names of all these plants. "I know it begins with C - clematis? - coreposis? - cleome?" - campanula? - cimicifuga?" - ad nauseum. I highly recommend these plant labels. Many members in my garden club use them as well.

Great plant identifiers
This is my second year using these plant identifiers. They are very sturdy and easy to push into the soil and are tall enough where they don't get lost after the plants have grown. I use my Brother PT-D400 label maker with clear tape and the text doesn't fade or wash off, nor does the tape come unaffixed. If you like labeling the plants in your garden, these labels are a great option.

Big enough to label plants properly
Well made good value arrives promptly. Label area is large enough and it’s tall enough to be seen in a bed. Or labelling a specimen shrub.

Seem like good plant labels especially when used with my label ...
Seem like good plant labels especially when used with my label maker rather than a marker pen. I have only had them for a couple of weeks so I can not say yet how badly they will rust or react to UK weather in use.
