Great honing stone for straight razor
Used it for straight razor honing. Not sure if this is 10k grit but it does a great job on sharpening. Buttery smooth yet enough to give your blade great edge and finish.

Great Hard stone
I used a lite coat of Rem oil before sharpening. The stone is very hard and is a very good finishing stone, or a maintenance stone for touch ups on the edge.I have touch up 3 different pocket knives that I carry, 2 fix blade knives that I also use, then some of the most common used kitchen knives, n a meat cleaver that had a rough edge. Now the meat clever is able to shave hair. This a great stone, would recommend to anyone who wants a good clean edge on their knife.

Nice to finish
The results were amazing. It not only polishes, it also sharpens. It is beyond the 6,000 grid, it cannot reach the 12,000 grid but it is very close. This stone should only be used to finish sharpening and get a mirror polish. Remember to go through the leather to settle the edge. This stone is natural and they only need a few drops of water. No need to soak.

A purchase I’d make again
Setting aside the unexpected *beauty* of the stone sent to me…my only conceivable complaint is that it feels just too small in my hands, would prefer ~2”x~8”. Arrived in perfect condition, tho the packing gave me pauseStone is to my eye clean and well-dressed, with a surface / hardness approaching the very best black Arkansas stone. Don’t know that I’ll ever need a better finishing stone than this. I’m very happy to have it.

Excellent Stone for the price
Definitely smoother than my 8000 grit stone, definitely gets my knife sharp as all hell. Doesn't seem terribly level out of the box, I'd like to hit it with a diamond leveling tool, but for $10 I'm very impressed there's a noticeable increase in sharpness between my knife after my 8000 grit stone then this one.

With oil this stone gave me a nice polished bevel.
If you're looking for a finishing stone, you've found it. I planned on just laying this flat on a table (which you can do), but the size is just right to hold in your hand as your sitting on the couch, which is a bonus. This will not fix any rolls or chips, in fact I tested a chip on the skinny edge of the stone and it was scratching off layers off of the stone. This is for polishing or at best bringing back a slightly dull knife.

Is this a good stone?
Is this good? It depends on what you want. The stone is nephite, beautiful , tough, and very hard. It will not release a fine grit like sharpening stones do, the stone is too hard and tough, so it will not sharpen a stone. It will however, burnish the edge of an already sharp stone, even on the hardest steel. It does take work to learn how to use the stone for burnishing though, so buyer beware. There are tool marks on the surface, I do not find issue with that though, as with a little use the surface smooths out. If you are impatient you can polish away the tool marks with another stone.I tend not to use this stone. On some steels I use a sharpening steel after sharpening with quality smooth sided diamond plate sharpeners. Other steels I sharpen with the diamond plate sharpeners, then finish with a fine grit diamond past on a stropping leather, for the ultimate mirror edge. The jade stone can get a mirror edge through burnishing, but frankly, good diamond paste and leather stropping is a lot easier for me and a less frustrating, more bomb proof method of getting that scary sharp ultimate edge. The jade, if you do not know what you are doing, can harm an edge as fast as it can help an edge.So this jade stone is not a bad deal, it is what it is, it is very hard and durable stone, it is made to an adequate level of quality, the price is low, but you need to know what you want. It is not a sharpening stone, that is not what it does to an edge.Whether or not you understand how to use it, it is cheap - and it is beautiful.

Great Finishing Stone!!
The stone came in tact. Advertised #10000 grit and the stone is extremely smooth. This is an excellent finishing stone for polishing an edge. Works quickly on high carbon steel. I haven't tried it on a low quality blade. It's a decent size for either fixed blade hunting knives or up to large pocket knives.
