Band Of Gypsys

Smooth as you like
Jimi at his best and finding a way to bet the record moguls at their game, some old standards with a fuller sound. He want to make his sound larger than the 3 piece he was being forced to use by the records moguls. Change your name add some other players and make the sound smoother and bigger. Won't please the Experience lovers and the simplicity of the band that started the road to fame. But it is certainly an important step, in the frustration to be a great musician. Jimi loved what others were doing around him, Beatles, Stones, Cream (Clapton) and just wanted to make great music this was part of that dream. The rest is simply history.....

Band of Gypsys, one of the greatest live albums of all time.
This album lies in my top 5 live albums of all time. The albums worth it for the cover alone, and the song selection is excellent. This album also has the best versions of "Machine Gun" and "Changes". Fantastic.

Quality Control?
This is a fabulous live album. I can only give it 3 stars because side 1 is a really bad pressing with a lot of noise on the right channel, even between tracks. Side 1's lable is also bubbling off the vinyl like it has been in water or something. Side 2 is perfect though so not all bad.

Not an all analog pressing as advertised
This does look nice but its exactly the same as the 2010 release which is not an all analog pressing, as advertised on the sticker on the front. The US version is. So what happened here i wonder.

Best Hendrix Album - Great Vinyl Cut
Just got the remastered Band of Gypsys (Jimi Hendrix last Album) on 180gram Red, Black and White marbled vinyl, 50th Anniversary Edition, (not an Amazon Purchase) can’t believe its been that long since I first heard this album, and I think its his best. Only recorded nine months before he died. I must say the remastering and the vinyls cut is superb, I have the original, but it’s in pretty poor condition, I think I picked up second hand. Not sure why they didn’t use the original cover art, with the three band members represented by puppets. If you are a Hendrix fan you really should have this in you collection, and if you’ve never been sure about Hendrix, find it on one of the streaming services, and take a listen, probably one of the funkiest albums he made, and it’s a live recording made over 69/70 New Year, at the Fillmore East NY. RIP JIMI. 👍❤️🎸
