The Low Light Photography Field Guide: The essential guide to getting perfect images in challenging light (The Field Guide Series) [Freeman, Michael] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Low Light Photography Field Guide: The essential guide to getting perfect images in challenging light (The Field Guide Series) Review: FOR PROFESSIONALS AND ADVANCED AMATEURS - I guess I'm ready to improve my low light photo skills. Until now I have confined most of my amateur shooting to daytime outdoors and flash indoors. I'm writing after reading only half the book. So far, my only criticism is the size of the type. It's just too small for me to comfortably read - even with reading glasses. I have to read it in direct sunlight. Anyway, it has been worth the extra effort. The book is not only wonderfully informative, it's inspiring. Because I have only read half the book, and tried out only few of the examples., I promise to return and amend this review IF I have more to say. Review: I like it - Good information, print is small for aging eyes.

Great book, tiny print! Get the Kindle version when available!
Excellent book covering almost all aspects of low-light photography in simple but concise manner with excellent illustrations. For some unknown reason published in microscopic print...???

Low Light; Small Print
I absolutely love Michael Freeman's other books. The Low Light Photography Field Guide is a good book that covers the basics of getting good shots in low light. My only complaint is the text is extremely small. I had trouble reading the book even with my glasses. This book would be better as an ebook. At least one could change the print size to something more readable.

Too small to read
The information is great but this is not a field guide. As a graphic designer as well as photographer I can see where a normal size book was simply miniaturized to make it portable and thus fit the category. The fonts, images, color and backgrounds all correspond to a larger format. At the present size it looks like the small print in some ads and is almost impossible to read. I would recommend that you wait until the publisher realizes the mistake made and comes out with a larger size book. Once you can actually read it, it will be worth every penny.

I chose this because of it's subject matter and in particular because of the Author.. Michael Freeman has a wealth of experience and he manages to impart it in a very understandable way. Where Photography is concerned, low light is a particularly neglected subject matter and for anyone wishing to cope with this and the difficulties that it can produce then this is the book for you. The format of the guide means it is truly a 'Field guide' and can be used for reference when tackling those tricky light situations..

I agree with other reviewers; great content compressed into a small form factor. A larger version would be great, after all you dont read a low light field guide in the dark!
