I removed the pads. When i play airsoft i wear a hat and face cover anyway so it doesnt bug me. Feels solid and should definitely stop anything thats regulated under 500 fps. It kind of makes the user look like a lollipop or matchstick? I guess a more customized option would be ideal. I just prefer a nice snug fit not too loose on the inside & the outside to fit closer to my head. Basically inside hugs the face outside doesn't make your head look too big. But don't get me wrong these masks are tuff as a tank.
