Excellent soundbar with an essentially non functional remote
I was a little reluctant to purchase this soundbar after reading some of the critical reviews but as I have done with other items in the past, I ignored them in the end because this was the choice that seemed best for me, and many of the most critical reviews have not echoed my own experiences with a product. Turns out none of the critical reviews reflected my experience with this soundbar. I have a Samsung 75" crystal TV that integrates with the Q series soundbar. Set up was easy. I read through the instructions expecting complications but all I had to do was plug in the soundbar and the woofer and connect the soundbar with to the TV HDMI ARC terminal. Turning on the TV activated the soundbar and the woofer. The Samsung TV remote controls the volume of the soundbar. That's a good thing because weeks on I am still unable to open the soundbar remote to install batteries. The TV remote was very difficult to open for battery installation but the soundbar remote makes the TV remote a breeze to open by comparison. Fortunately, I've found the balance between mids, highs, and lows to be what I like without have to use the soundbar remote for separate adjustment. Speech is much clearer than with the TV alone and the bass is excellent. The woofer sits on a floor above a basement, not a concrete slab, so it may allow some resonance. We felt it when the alien spacecraft hovered over Roy's truck in Close Encounters. Left-right separation is decent for speakers as close together as they are in a sound bar. Watching the scene in Aliens where Ripley drives to rescue the Marines the sound matched the action on different sides of the screen. Streaming audio is also excellent. The remote allows separate control of the woofer and sound sync adjustment with the picture, as well as general volume control but given the integration between soundbar and TV I haven't found that to be necessary so I haven't been trying too much to get the soundbar remote working. It would just be another remote I'd have to use and it hasn't been necessary. Turning on the television with the TV remote actives the woofer and the soundbar. Placing a DVD into my Sony 4K player makes the TV, soundbar, and woofer come on automatically.

Perfect Gift to Myself
Purchased this on sale. I have a 65" Samsung Q90. The display is beautiful but that onboard speakers are horrible. I have to put the volume on Max to be able to hear a movie decently. I had been searching for months when I seen this soundbar and subwoofer for sale. $200? I figured it was worth a shot from $500. Glad I was Able to make the purchase. Sounds is crisp. When I have had guests over or on cleaning day at the house, it is nice to be able to connect to the device via bluetooth and play music from my phone. I like the different sound modes. I personally leave it on surround sound. But when listening to music, I switch it over to Game. The base sounds a lot more deeper.

Good surround but FYI
Purchased and returned 3 surround systems (1 JBL, 1 Samsung different model and another Samsung same model). Learned some things. I have a standard โold TVโ (maybe 5 years now). The JBL I was gifted and wasnโt what should have been sent so it went back. 2nd unit was a Samsung and hooked up to HDMI/ARC, sounded good and all features worked as expected (tv remote as well). I couldnโt get the rear speakers to connect and with a call to Samsung I discovered it wasnโt compatible with the rear Samsung speaker Amazon suggested so that went back. 3rd unit was this exact model which I got โrefurbishedโ off Amazon. When it arrived I plugged it in I couldnโt get sound through the HDMI/ARC so I presumed it was faulty and it went back. 4th unit came in and same issue no sound with HDMI/ARC. Worked good paired to my phone so I again called Samsung and they were baffled, they recommended using a optical cable and luckily I had one coming next day. Plugged it in and audio now works. Only issue is, and this may be a normal function of a optical connection, the remotes (TV or Apple TV) will not work. A bit of an annoyance, FYI. So far sound is good. Iโve read how it is not true surround and I cannot speak to that but overall I am happy with the sound quality and depth of sound. Wish there was a way to raise or lower the sound level of the front or back speakers because of my set up. Rear speakers are just a few feet away and sound bar is 8-10 feet away. Overalls good, lots of run around for a final result. Samsung was fairly helpful. Amazon was good about returning as usual.

Worth the money
NEVER have I ever bought a sound bar so when this awesome bar popped up on the treasure truck while I was at work I was like... eh what the heck, or I just send it back. This is a definite buy, and wise I had bought one sooner in my life. Bought the rca universal mount kit at a local store, I had it up in like 15 minutes even with the tv wall mounted already. This part might take an hour but Do Not put the sub on the floor. Install a shelf opposite side of the room as your TV and place the shelf shoulder height and Install outlet and run a new outlet up to the shelf and put your subwoofer speaker up on the shelf and plug it in. It'll look beautiful with no dangle cords. It'll provide amazing quality of sound and a much more immersed experience while you watch your favorite show.

Easy Peasy
I bought this for my Samsung 80Q, not knowing anything about soundbars. The only thing I knew was that when I would have friends over they said they couldn't hear or understand the dialog. Vaulted ceilings have that effect, so I thought I'd invest in a soundbar to see if that made a difference. It came, had directions and whala! I had a sound system. I'm a woman in my 70's and I had no trouble at all connecting it in about 5 minutes. It sync'd with alexa, my direct tv and my tv all without me having to do much at all. It's a form of plug n play. So simple anyone could do it. The sound is excellent and my friends say they can definitely hear a difference.

A huge improvement over regular TV speakers
I bought these along with a new Samsung TV and, although there are no issues with the TV speakers, the sound from these is far superior. The subwoofer is what makes them stand out verses other soundbars I have heard. y favorite thing is that I can have the speakers work directly with the TV rather than having to go through a stereo system. I used HDMI (ACT port) to connect with my Samsung TV and I was able to control the speakers directly from there. I did not try the bluetooth or wifi connection options because I felt the direct connection with HDMI is simpler and more stable. I also found that the speaker remote wasn't necessary because I controlled the speakers through the TV screen and TV remote.

Worth it.
Bought this at nearly half price and what a buy! The sound is big and full without being too loud. Great performance considering the size. One gripe is that the tv always defaults to the HDMI port this unit is plugged into, so I have to essentially turn on the tv twice. I could probably research a fix, but itโs ok for now and it works great otherwise. A solid upgrade from my old vizio unit. Not sure if i would pay $500, but the Black Friday sale was nice!

Be aware - not wireless
It is not really clear. These are not wireless speakers. The control unit is wireless, but the speakers have to be wired to the control head and the wires provided are pretty short, so it is difficult to truly put them in the back corners of the room. Also they are pretty small and quiet. I have to run them on +6 for them to be heard. It also really depends on what you are watching. Some movies they provide great backup sound, but on other movies, they do very little. They are not expensive, so guess I should not really expect too much.
