This is an ok/mediocre-type of product that gets the job done. Be aware of the units possibly heating up during use.
I would never have purchased the stacker if I hadn't purchased an amp for my X5. I felt I needed more hardware to secure one unit to the other until I used the enclosed rubber bands and Teflon-like insulating material designed to both cushion and insulate both units from each other. After I saw the stacker, I thought it was the perfect answer.Well, it's not perfect, but at least it's good. Price of the unit was acceptable to me, and it looked like the materials were stronger than the two rubber bands I used when I got the amp for the X5. The frame for the stacker slides around a bit, enough to be annoying, and the placement for the connector jacks rubbed a lot. Also, and inspite of insulation between the two units, heat was forming. It could have been something wrong with my equipment, but I haven't found anyone else complaining about that fun fact and feature. Both units work well without heating hardly at all. It's not something that can be warned while jogging or speed walking or a work-out in the gym, but when it's time to work at the desk, work on the computer, or study to great sounding music, then this will be a joy to listen to. I found that wearing the newer ear buds work great and laying in bed listening to music is a great listening experience. It's under $30, give it a try. Unless you're a starving student, you won't lose a bundle if they don't work for you, and I'm sure there's some warranty or exchange policy that you can use to get your cash back.

If buying for Fiio Mont Blanc, great Aux cable upgrade, but case doesn't work w/Mont Blanc, as ad led to believe.
Well, worth the cost, although the ad seems to be somewhat misleading. I was led to believe that this case was made for the Fiio Mont Blanc Amp, as it showed that it was "purchased along with the Blanc". But, that was not the case. But, for 2 dollars more than the cost of other short "high quality " aux to aux (for stacking) cables...this is well worth the value. I tossed the case, but like the cable a lot more than the flimsy one that came with the Mont Blanc. Also, I like the thickness of the black stacking bands. So, in the end, it's a great buy, although the ad doesn't say the case is for the E17 DAC...or whatever it's made for. But, high qualitu, far superior short Male to Male Aux cable and high quality, stress free bands, for secure placement of the amp to whatever device desired.

Gets the job done, even if it isn't the most elegant solution.
A not very elegant, but nevertheless functional addition to my Fiio X5 and E12. It gets the job done for pairing the X5 and the E12. Th little buttons you stick on the back of the E12 to keep the two units separated help to allow air flow between the units and I suspect will help with heat issues. The unit does not interfere at all with the X5 controls.I especially like the cable that came with this stacker - it is a much better, sturdier cable for connecting the X5 and E12 than the flimsy cable that came with the E12.

Does not interfere with X5 front panel!!
Great little kit. Use of the frame prevents having anything (bands, etc.) crossing the front panel of the X5. Mounting is secure for the E12, which is how I have this paired. That being said, please note that this will work for almost any portable headphone amp - not just the FiiO units. (One exception would be the little HeadStage Arrows, which are so thin that the bands provided with this kit are just too big. It would be find if you were to find some smaller bands to use)

Fiio x player kit only.
The frame is designed to only fit the Fiio x music player. If you are wanting to stack your phone or other music player, this will not work. The bands and connecting cabe are top quality, and the cable alone is worth the purchase. Now i have a Good kit for when I do invest in the player.

Stacking the Decks...
FiiO makes great audio products and the accoutrements are equally stellar. This simple kit clasps the wonderful X5 player to an amp, in my case the E12, combining them into an unparalleled portable sound experience. This is a keeper. If you own the X5 and an amp, this stacking kit is a must.

A MUST HAVE for stacking X5 Gen-I to E 12
If you're stacking a Gen-I X5 to an E12 BUY THIS! It keeps the bands out of the way of the controlls. Best of all it comes with a high end Japanese 3.5 mm silver plated short cable that you would have to pay $3.00 more for if you bought by itself. IT'S A GREAT DEAL!

Good Accessory
Good accessory for the X5. It really should come included with the headphone amplifiers though. The only downside would be that you can't use it with the silicon protector case.
