A tad cheap and cheerful but effective 👌
It's greengage season and our trees are loaded with fruit this year. So, jam making is about to commence - with family orders flooding in! In previous years I have not used a jam thermometer- which requires a bit of guesswork. So, this thermometer 🌡 is a godsend making the cooking process easy. It clips to the side of the saucepan leaving both hands free. OK, it's a tad cheap and cheerful but it does the job I need of it. I only make jam once a year so it seems a little daft to spend a lot on a thermometer. Reasonably priced and quick delivery 😊 😃

Temperature reader is too high inside the pin - doesn't read temperature correctly
The product seemed to be of a good quality but when I used it I realised the actual temperature reader is half way up the metal pin which is useless for anything less than that. I would have to cook a lot of sugar syrup to actually reach the reader or quite a lot of jam for this to be useful unfortunately. If your making larger quantities this will probably work better but when I made a sugar syrup for a nougat the thermostat only reached 105C so I checked with another probe and it was at 145C with colour so the reader was well off the actual temperature which made me overcook my syrup. Sadly this product did not serve it's purpose and to do so I would have to use much larger quantities which I won't as it would be wasted.

Termometern har suttit i fugdesmet i drygt 10 minuter och visar ca 80 grader C. Min digitala termometer visar samtidigt 104 grader C.
