Saved my back & helped my dog!
Bought this "just in case" I ever needed it. I liked that it was long & it could even work for a mini doxie (I tried that to see) as well as medium to larger dogs. It's softer on dogs' undersides by being wider too. I had no idea I'd need it, but sure enough my large dog woke up in a panic & kept trying to get up but kept falling over & her eyes looked scared, wide, & darting back & forth as if she was having a seizure. I thought she'd stroked & this was the end for her. Not so, it was "old dog syndrome" (yes, that's a real thing) & completely survivable "IF" she had help standing/walking so she could potty & "IF" she had food & water brought to & held for her so she got what she needed, as well as something from the vet to help w/ dizziness/headache/nausia til the syndrome ran it's month long course & went away. My back has serious injuries & I couldn't puck up, carry or hold up a large dog @ all no matter how much I loved her. But this sling saved the day!!! I was able to support her w/ the sling under her lower ribcage & a leash on a dog harness (w/ this illness she had to be supported both front & back ends so a dog harness was needed too). I could let her lean against my leg for added support & assurance for her while I guided her using the harness w/ leash & this sling combo (she was unable to see because of the dizziness & uncontrollable eye movements during this viral process) & it confused & scared her so much!). She felt more secure knowing I was there to guide & help her so she didn't fall, flail around, & panic. She would've died w/o this sling because I simply wouldn't have been able to support her w/o it & I was barely able to even w/ it because my back is so bad. I hurt terribly but wasn't about to let my dog die because I couldn't help her move around when she needed to & get to the food & water because she couldn't see it right in front of her so she could recover. She recovered after 6 of the longest wks ever & I took longer to recover from the strain it put on my back; but we both got thru it thanks to having this sling when it was needed most! I only ordered it to keep in my emergency 1st aide pet bag that I keep. Thank goodness I did that & it was here when my dog had to have it!!!! I've used a rolled beach towel in the past for a different dog before my back injuries & this sling is by far easier & better for both the owner & the dog! The adjustable hand strap length was great too so I could get it the best length I could according to my dog's height & how far the sling came up above her back to make it easier on my back. Having those handles was so much better than trying to hold onto the ends of a beach towel & guide a dog that can't stand on it's own & needs guided @ the same time because it's too afraid to try to walk even when supported. This sling is soft enough to just leave under the dog while laying down so it's already there when you have to support the dog again. It stayed under & around my dog's body the entire 6 wks. The stiching & fabric did not tear, fray, or go bad in any way & believe it when I say it got A LOT of use & work. It's made well. I honestly couldn't have saved my dog's life from a completely short-lived & fully recoverable viral condition w/o this sling, a harness, & leash. I'm so thankful I had the foresight to get this sling before I even knew I'd ever need one! And I have it if it's ever needed again. If u need one or just want to be prepared like I did, this is a good one & can be used for multiple sizes of dogs. I can even fold this one in half lengthwise under the the belly of a smaller dog that's not as long bodied as a mini-doxie. It's versatile if your thinking isn't limited.

Saved my back
Have a dachshund with back issues. Needed a way to take her out. It was killing my back to try a walk her. Tried to sling a folded pillow case under her, but it was still too short. This sling did the trick.

Works as promised
Good, quality and easy to use. I like that it has adjustable straps and there's no need to hook it onto a leash or harness. I just slip it under his belly to give him backend support going up or down stair or over thresholds. Soft cushioned fabric is nice too as it doesn't annoy his skin.

Excellent assistance!
I bought this sling for my 90+ pound dog who just had one of his hind legs amputated due to cancer. The soft padding seemed to keep him very comfortable and kept him steady as we helped him go up and down the steps. I would highly recommend this for anyone whose pet needs assistance in walking or in maneuvering steps.

Longer strap
I wish the strap was longer. I’m 5’9 and I have the strap extended all the way. My husband is 6’2 and has to bend over to use it. Other than that it is great and very reasonably priced!! I would highly recommend this product!!

When your dog’s hind legs begin to weaken this will allow you to assist without discomfort
When a dog reach a senior year the hind legs may begin it fail them. They are not totally incapacitated but, getting up and stairs may become a struggle FR them. they still have quality time remaining and this assistive “Holder - Lift” is easy to use and will resolve both problems of their “getting up” and navigating stairs. You can even use it to allow they to take short walks as you will provide the rear body support needed and not find it difficult. A doggy rear wheeled support will work but, it will take time to put your fury baby in it and then be taken out when your walk is done. They are great for a focused purpose but, this sling is very reasonably priced, washable and easier carried with out bulk. HIGHLY RECOMENT FOR OWNER AND DOG.

No padding, but quite usable, just mostly for dogs hind legs problems
I bought the largest size of this sling for my dog weighing over 85 pounds. My dog's hind legs are failing due to old age and medication at the same time, i.e. he can stand on them, but often stumbles (literally every 10-20 steps), and the sling is needed to pick the falling dog up. Let me explain in detail so that you understand - my dog does not hang on this sling all the time, maybe that's why it suited us.The sling really has no padding and sometimes rolls into a tight accordion under the dog. In the case of my dog it is just good that it rolls back to the back legs - that's where she needs support, but the fact that the sling has no padding - it is not convenient for the dog.Adjustable straps, they are quite comfortable for me.All in all a handy thing for the owner of a dog who has problems with hind legs. Probably not the most comfortable sling for a dog (if it had padding - it would be much better), but it is quite usable.Probably not very suitable if the dog has problems with both hind and front paws - then you just need a different kind of sling (with two-way support). This sling mainly supports the back of the dog (at least when it comes to a large dog)

Easy to use
I bought this as my elderly Newfoundland dog was having trouble with his hind quarters. We used it through the last weeks of his life to help him up and down our deck stairs. He adapted to it quickly and just waited for us to slip it under him before he attempted the stairs. He appeared quite comfortable walking with it on and it was comfortable and sturdy for us humans to use.

Needed this to support my dogs hips
My 11 year old GSP has a pelvic bone issue and walking up stairs is an issue. I have a bad back and can't pick her up. I am ablecto use this sling to help her up the stairs by slightly lifting her hind end without hurting myself.Yesterday, we had an emergency with her and she was diagnosed with vestibular disease. We are using this to support her until she recovers so she does not fall over while taking her out to pee. I was so happy to have it.

Not at all what I expected
My dog is having problems with his back legs and I thought this would help him on the stairs well the design seems to be good it's not a practical item in my opinion as the dog continues to slip out of it I purchased the more expensive unit which allowed me to encase the dog and pick them up like a suitcase when going up and down the stairs

Works
This is a good product and makes life a lot easier for my senior Newfoundland Dogs and myself. I am able to help them rise off of the hardwood floors with ease so that they do not have to struggle. I purchased another one about 2 years ago and it just disintegrated in the dryer. So I have purchased this same product to give it another go. Hopefully this one will last more than 2 year, but truth be told, with it being washed on a weekly to bi-monthly basis, a 2 year life span isn't so bad for a piece of fabric with handles.
