Ooh, tough situation!
I wasn’t sure how they’d find a way through this one. As usual, lovable characters, decent people, and strong family support.

Good Romance
I have read many of Grace Burrowes' historical romances, and love her writing. Her books are historically accurate, and contain fascinating, likable characters. This one is no exception, and I like that she is revisiting some of the characters from her Lonely Lords series -- since I really liked it. This series centers on the romances of the Haddonfield women, who are the sisters of Nicholas from Lonely Lords Book 2.The H/h in this book are likable characters, and I wanted them to find their HEA. I liked both Kirsten and Daniel, but I did get a little irritated at Kirsten a few times -- she was just so often snappish and grouchy, and her grouchy comments were often undeserved. Daniel was a sweetheart, and I loved that he was so devoted to his calling, to teaching, and to his nephew.I think my favorite part of this book was that it revisits characters from the Lonely Lords series. Nicholas was one of my favorites, so it is nice to catch up with him and his family. A couple of the other Lonely Lords and their wives were also mentioned, which was nice. I assume Burrowes will continue to do that in the other books in this series.I'm looking forward to the other books in this series. My rating is 4 stars. My rating system is below.1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Another great historical by Grace Burrowes
**ARC received for review purposes, original review http://wickedlilpixie.com/2015/11/04/kindle-jo-review-daniels-true-desire-by-grace-burrowes/ **We have met both Daniel and Kirsten in previous books, Daniel being Letty’s (David: Lord of Honor) brother and Kirsten being the sister of Nita (Tremaine’s True Love) and David Haddonfield (Nicholas: Lord of Secrets), and I couldn’t wait to find out more about the two of them.Daniel is lost, he’s lost the boy he’d been raising as his own and the wife who lied to him for their entire marriage, he’s not sure that his vocation is right for him, and having accepted the post in Haddondale he’s leaving behind the only home he’s ever known. Enter Lady Kirsten Haddonfield, a lovely young woman who has been played false by more than one abysmal suitor, and who has resigned herself to going back hated to London to help her sister navigate the upcoming season. Let the sparks fly! What I loved most about Daniel’s True Desire was that none of the issues that Daniel and Kirsten face were small or easily overcome; yet the two work together to gain their HEA. Watching both of them tutor the neighborhood boys, rebuild the vicarage, and over come personal obstacles was very entertaining. The way Ms. Burrowes describes the everyday life of her characters brings so much more realism to her books and this one is no exception. Just like real people, life and all of it’s requirements don’t stop just because Daniel and Kirsten each have so many other things on their mind, writing like this makes (for me) the characters more realistic and well drawn. You learn much about a person based on how they handle adversity.Daniel and Kirsten have an undeniable chemistry and a nicely blooming friendship. This is another aspect at which Ms. Burrowes’ talent shines, she subtly shows us how the two are perfect for one another. The cast of characters are all very well drawn and fit into the story without feeling forced. Daniel’s wife for example, without hearing all that she has done from other people the reader gets vivid picture of the kind of person she truly is on the inside. Seeing Daniel come to understand exactly who he married as a young man, and how her influence shaped how his life has come to be at it’s current state was poignant. Daniel and Kirsten’s interaction with the boys that Daniel has taken to tutor was very well done, as were the things that those boys were each going through in their young lives. Ms. Burrowes pens a very realistic view of what chaos changes in adult circumstances brings to a young person’s life, as well as a wonderful view of how strong friendships form in the midst of such chaos.A wonderful cast of characters, steamy love scenes, a beautifully penned friendship, excellent writing, and a lovely HEA make Daniel’s True Desire an excellent diversion from every day life. Do yourself a favor and pick it up today. I do recommend reading David: Lord of Honor to get the back story on Daniel, Danny, and Letty; but it isn’t necessary to read Grace Burrowes’ entire back list (though it is good reading :) ). I can’t wait to read Will and Susannah’s story (Will’s True Wish, Feb 2016).

Ms Burrowes serves up another gem in Daniel's True Desire; a must read.
Ms Burrowes has a wonderful talent for drawing her reader in from the first page, she weaves magic in words and once started on the journey you cannot leave until the last sentence is read, she then leaves her reader longing for more. The fictional loves and lives of the characters that populate her novels are engaging, hero's and villains alike spark the imagination and the plots flow seemingly effortlessly from her quill. I am a devoted addict and long may I remain so, as long as Ms Burrowes weaves her spell I will remain an addict. Daniel's True Desire is a truly delightful experience and I cannot wait to read Tremaine's True Love, the next in her new True Gentlemen series. If you enjoy beautifully written Regency Romances than I can heartily recommend Daniel's True Desire. Open the door to your imagination and step inside.

A truly lovely book
Such a gentle, slow burning storyline unfolding - with a patient, quiet, modest hero and a restrained heroine, both just wanting to be loved. Characterisation is Grace Burrowes' forte and she doesn't disappoint, particularly with the thoroughly vicious Olivia. Written beautifully, as ever, with layers of personality and complexity gently intertwined to create a lyrically lovely read.
