Solid addition to the SPQ series
If you're a fan of Jill Conner Browne and her Sweet Potato Queen series, you will enjoy this latest addition. It came out with very little fanfare. I have always preordered her books and didn't even realize this one was out until I saw it at Borders.I wouldn't label it as her best or chock full of all sorts of new stuff, but it is very enjoyable and a solid read. Taken for what it is- a funny, well-written and pleasant book, it is well worth the time.If you've read and/or own the rest of the series, you'll definately want to pick this one up as well! I've been to a couple of her book signing, but have not seen one announced for this tome. If she does a reading and signing near you, be sure to check it out!

I love anything from the Sweet Potato Queens books
I love anything from the Sweet Potato Queens books. These books helped me thru the most difficult times in my life, with laugh out loud events recounted in the books. That is almost unheard of for me! I love how Jill Conner Browne takes everyday life experiences and makes you laugh at them and yourself. We are all aging, but we don't have to accept it with regrets, live to the max. We earn all those wrinkles and thighs. It is about acceptance and just liking yourself at whatever age, or whatever your thighs, neck, face, etc looks like! can't wait to read more from this author.

Other Sweet Potato Queens Books are Funnier
I love listening to the recordings of the Sweet Potato Queens books. They always have a funny way to look at the things that happen to all of us aging, problems with men, the desire to eat lots of delicious but unhealthy food. This one didn't quite live up to the earlier books though. I thought I was hearing repeated things from earlier books and it didn't seem that all the stories really related to the stated topic of the book. The Sweet Potato Queens are always pretty funny, but I probably won't relisten to this one.

a fun and funny read
I had read some other Sweet Potato Queens books some years ago and really enjoyed them. This is a toned down, mellowed out, and still very funny, follow up.Quick and breezy to read (bogs down in a couple of places).Hope to see another edition with this humorous take on life and aging in a few more years.

Just too funny!
Laughed my way through this entire book. Truer statements were never written about us women. You will be able to relate to just about all the situations in the book. Laughed so hard I was crying and may have even "PIMP". I would recommend that you not read this book while sitting in a restaurant eating alone. You may burst out laughing at any given moment and be ushered out in a white jacket. Just too funny!

Another home run!
Another funny LOL Potato queens masterpiece. I have to read it alone so I don't wake hubby with all my outbursts of laughter. Ms Browne's discussion as always contains a major sprinkling of southern charm and REAL woman experiences. Too funny.

Steel Sweet Potatoes
I'm growing old with Tammy! And the "Tales" are taking on the look of the "mature" Southern Lady person we all relate to. Even mature Southern Ladies have a raucous past!
