I bought two of these to use as firing containers for use with bronze metal clay. They fit very well in my kiln. The surface is smooth and one fits nicely on top of the other like a lid when you invert it. I don't have to worry about black spalling on a stainless steel firing container with these since the ceramic can withstand much higher temperatures safely.
