Looking for a pocket ninja sword that can also blast out windows? No? What about glass coke bottles? Yes. Look no further...
As someone who owns a lot of knives (don't be alarmed) this is still one of my favorite dependable pieces. It's no secret that Kershaw makes good dependable well designed entry level knives. No one is going to confuse this with a Sebenza or a Strider model knife but this knife isn't trying to be that to begin with. I originally purchased this knife THREE years ago and with an occasional sharpening here and there this thing is still in great shape. Kershaw is to knives as Honda is to cars. You like that analogy? I know you do... The blade comes razor sharp out of the box, maybe not hair shaving sharp, but sharp enough. A little work on a stone or sharpener could easily get it there. Not the biggest fan of serrated blades but there is a time and place for them and for work having the serrated portion of the blade has been money i.e. cutting rope, twine, plastics, etc. However, a word to the wise I wouldn't use this knife to pry or anything like that as I could see potentially dinging up the point or edge of this knife. I'm personally a fan of Kershaw's Speedsafe system (no I don't work for them and no this isn't an advertisement but I won't say no to a sponsorship *wink wink). I like the quick decisive opening of Speedsafe knives with little to no effort. It's one of those mechanisms that will have you opening and closing your knife repeatedly like a creepy military veteran sitting in the corner of a waiting room muttering silently to himself. The handle is very grippy and won't slip out of your hands even if they're wet/damp...however, if you decide that you want to get crazy with the tanning oil at the beach and then want to cut open a bag of nuts with this knife I would probably wear some eye protection... Lastly, this knife does have the carbide tip glassbreaker. Have I used it? Oh yea...does it work? absolutely. Does breaking glass scratch, mar, and cause general imperfections on the knife handle? Yup. But how else are you going to let all the knife dorks and your tacticool buddies know that this isn't just some eye candy you keep in your pocket!

Best knife to date after 40 years of collecting
I’ve been collecting knives for over 40 years. I own Buck, Kershaw, GEC, Uncle Henry and whole host of made in USA knives. This Blur 1670 is by far the best. The knife is razor sharp out of the box. The Speed Safe feature is flawless and opens the knife with authority and purpose. The T6 aircraft aluminum body is strong and light weight despite the almost perfect overall weight of the knife. It incorporates a glass breaking tip on one scale which is polished, stout and sharp, perfect for emergency applications. The scales are moderately to heavily textured and ensure a positive grip. The thick Scandiv steel blade has a convex sway from the tip to about 2/3rds down the blade then transitions to an aggressive serrated profile, perfect for cutting rope and seatbelts. My knife is black with a black oxide coating on the blade. I own at least 25 knives and while they all excel in specific categories this Blur ticks all the boxes as an EDC and an excellent knife for Emergency Responders. I say that because I’m a retired Emergency Responder and wish I had this knife while I was on the job. If you’re looking for a made in the USA knife at a bargain price with excellent materials and dependable real life design features, then look no further. This is it! The sub $70.00 price point might sting a bit but you’ll not regret it. Well done Kershaw! GO USA!

Impressive right out of the box
Just received my knew knife...very impressive. Blade is sharp and seems solid. Grip is roughened so slipping in your grip is less likely to happen even in wet conditions. Time will tell but first impressions are excellent.

An Awesome Pocket Kershaw with Glass Breaker... You Can't Go Wrong.
These are beautiful and simple knives. And they get the job done. I've been impressed how often I need it and how sharp the blade stays. This is my second one. BUT before looking like a knife crazy collector, I must add the disclaimer that this second knife has a glass breaker tip on the end. (Because if I ever come across a dog or child left in a hot car, I won't be hesitating to Kershaw their asses out of there! Though one must be cognizant of the proper legal channels for saving a living being from an overheated car.) For the price, it's in incredible knife. It fits in my hand wonderfully, almost ergonomically. I love the thumb opener on the side of the blade and that's ruined me for any other knife. No more two handing it. No more flicking to open. Well, I could go on and on, but I think I'll stop about here. It's awesome and Kershaw has made a life long fan out of me because of this knife and the reasonable price. Think about it... for pennies a day, you have yourself an awesome utility device.

Amazing knife! Lightweight, fast open, very sharp!
Possibly the most incredible knife I’ve owned! Breaker sharp point is no issue for me as I put this in my waistband and angle it to the side. No clothes punctured whatsoever. Just buy it! You won’t be disappointed! Incredibly lightweight, thin, extremely sharp, every day carry. I’m amazed at how easy and fast I can open the blade with one hand and how sharp it is. It’s certainly Worth every penny!

Could be my holy grail of pocket knives
I was carrying a SOG Flash II pocket knife for 1.5 years. Somehow it got out of my pocket and I needed a replacement. I also own a Spyderco Tenacious but had not carried it too much as I really liked the spring loaded SAT feature of the SOG. But the execution and machining of the Spyderco was really well done and thought out, particularly the jimping at the back of the blade and the shape and honing. My thoughts were if Spyderco made a knife that had the SAT technology built into it, that would be my holy grail pocket knife. So I began asking on several different forums that I am a member of and someone mentioned the Kershaw Blur. I reviewed the knife extensively on youtube, saw that it had the SAT technology and the pier construction, saw that the handles were not plastic but a rubberized insert, and as a bonus you could get the knife in all black with glass break stud on the back edge of the handle. It also has an angled stud as part of the blade as a deployment assist. The edges of that stud are kinda sharp and if you repeatedly work the action, you might wear a hole into your skin. I did. You can reposition the very sturdy clip to either end of the knife. Here is where I'll knock off a star. The knife comes with the clip positioned on the opposite end of the glass break stud. You probably should leave it at that position. Although the knife is positioned opposite of the ideal position of where you might like the knife to be located in your hand if quickly drawing for a defensive deployment, keeping the glass break stud stowed in a point down position is imperative. The glass break stud is very sharp, it will cut/stab anything it comes in contact with. Reach for a wallet, it stabs you. Sit down in a car seat, it might cut the fabric. So it is a trade off, the stud could be useful in an emergency situation of breaking a car window but you now have to carry the knife in pocket clip backwards. It is now a question of pull/position the knife/deploy blade vs pull/deploy blade. With practice, one could become comfortable with the extra step involved. The risk is dropping/ fumbling the knife on a rapid deployment situation. The knife also has jimping in the liner lock and the back of the blade but neither are very useful, the jimping is very rounded and my thumb slides over it, so it provides very little grip.

Excellent purchase choice - rescue tool and all around great resource
I love this knife. The handle is textured in such a way that the tool can be used in wet weather or dry without losing grip. The assisted open is a fantastic addition to have. Push the thumb studs and SNAP!! it is open and locked in place. I've used it to cut all sorts of stuff and am impressed with its ability to hold an edge. I particularly like the serrated portion: great for when you need to cut through rope or (God forbid) a seat belt. It has a pleasant heft to it and feels good in my hand. It is also easy, with a little practice, to close this knife one handed. The carbide tip is not messing around when it comes to breaking glass. This is an excellent rescue tool and all around resource to have on hand. My only "complaint" is that the carbide tip is a bit scratchy against the upper thigh when it's in your pocket. But for God's sake, don't let that deter you. And DON'T carry it blade side out. It WILL open if you rub up against something the wrong way, which is why the instructions tell you to keep it clipped in your pocket. I highly recommend this knife. LOVE IT.

Kershaw Blur Glassbreaker
I spent a few months searching for a good edc knife and am quite happy with this purchase. This is the first product I have felt the need to review because of its supperior quality. I have had the knife now for a few months, and never leave home without it. It has stayed very sharp since the day it arrived and is extremely sturdy. The grips are great and there is no blade wobble whatsoever. Since I abtained the knife, I haven't had to sharpen it yet. I still strop it after use, and after a lot of use it is still shaving sharp. I have heard great things about the customer service as well, even though I haven't had to use it. This is a great knife, made in th U.S.A. and very reasonably priced, must buy. Just wanted to update after a few years of EDC. I have used an abused(within reason) this knife and it has held up quite well to everything I have needed it for. The serrations are still quite sharp. I did end up sharping the blade a few times since I first got it(to be expected) and it has held an edge quite well. I still carry this knife everywhere I go, and will continue to do so until the invention of the pocket sized light saber. Update 1/9/2019: This knife is still my go to edc knife. It's held up great, and stays quite sharp with proper maintenance. 5 stars still
