IT WORKS!
My dog may hate it but OMG. I put this on my Old English Sheepdog as she is able to pull me down. I've been putting off getting a Gentle Leader and finally after literally being pulled down by her over the weekend, I said I need one. BEST DECISION EVER!! Immediately I was able to actually walk her with no pulling. The pulling she did do, was very very minimal. I am over the moon happy to finally not have my arm ripped off at every walk. The little extra piece that you hook around the regular colar, gives me piece of mind, that if she were to break out of the leader, shes at least still controlled and cant get free. My senior mother, I now feel safe that she can also walk her. If your dog can pull you down or pulls in general this is your answer! I'd give it 50 stars if I could.

Heavy puller? This IS it!
I have tried other gentle leads. Some success, but product was too wimpy for my heavy puller. Tried a no pull harness. Nope! But this IS the solution.Pros:Padded muzzle area so it isn’t painful to the dogHighly reflective stitching for safe evening walksWell made and sturdy constructionA real bonus is the loop you use to attach the gentle lead to your dogs collar- extra peace of mind while your dog is getting used to the new gear!Fits well, and pretty adjustableInstructions are clearDog can be walking close to you, in a heel position if you wish, and no straining and pulling to keep control of dogCons:The only one I can come up with is that the lever to adjust the muzzle size can slide open with a heavy puller while dog is getting used to wearing the new gear. Simple solution is that after adjusting it for fit, I hand stitched it in place so the size is perfect and the muzzle area doesn’t become too loose.MAKE SURE YOUR DOG CAN OPEN HIS MOUTH AND PANT.Not doing this is like someone putting duct tape across your mouth and making you walk and only breathe out of your nose. Highly uncomfortable and dangerous for your dog!I am very very happy with this product. I was excited to get it and be able to walk my dog again! This allows me to walk at MY chosen pace and not my dogs. Just a well executed product!

It works on my mastiff boxer mix exactly like we hoped.
Maizy is a 120 pound mastiff/boxer, and she pulls us over when walking on the leash when she gets excited. She also pulls at the end of the leash when she's on a walk, and doesn't listen to any commands. At least she used to be that way. We got the collar a while ago but just started using it two days ago. It worked as soon as we started using it. She can eat and drink with it on, and it's made of soft material that has padding. But for some reason, it does control her. She will NOT pull the leash if she has it on! She is a little nervous, but we followed the directions and used treats to get her used to it slowly. She lets us put it on easily and doesn't try to pull away. She just seems confused, but I believe she will be OK after she gets used to it. The one we got is a large. The cons to this are as follows:1) The clip to hold the collar to the correct size under the muzzle is very cheaply made. I can tell that if she DID try to pull, it could easily break. But she doesn't so far. Hoping that will continue. I can see why some people's reviews said to sew under the clip once it is at the right size to keep it from coming loose, since strong pulling might very well snap it. Maizy doesn't seem to need this precaution.2) The security strap that is supposed to hold it to a collar doesn't work well with a chain collar. We may get a cloth one, but we have been using the collar without using the security strap for now. We tried it at first, and also tried having two leashes, one on the collar and one on this. But she seems to be a totally different dog when this is on! So we don't seem to need it. I suspect that with a more stubborn dog, you would need to have a cloth or leather collar and attach it with the security strap. We call it "Spock's Brain," because we thought Maizy didn't have a brain, and now she seems to!"Brain and Brain, what is brain? It is controller, is it not?" Only true fans of the original Star Trek will get that.

Not sure...mine broke
I ordered this to try to get my husky puppy to stop pulling on walks. I specifically got this one because it has padding on the part that goes on the nose. I took it out of the box and attempted to work with my pup to try it out. Within a few minutes, the clasp that goes under the snout that holds the whole thing secure to the dogs face, broke. I'm not sure if it was broken prior to me removing it from the box, or of it was faulty, but I was disappointed that I couldn't even use it. I gave 3 stars because the product itself seems well made, with the exception of the plastic hardware, and the fact that I didn't have the opportunity to really try it didn't seem fair to knock it down to 1 or 2. It very well could work perfectly for others. I wanted to write a review though, to warn against the plastic parts. This could maybe work for less aggressive pullers, but I'd caution against the clasp. That said, the product does come with an instruction and training booklet that is easy to read and understand and the nose padding seems to be comfortable (but I'm not a dog, so what do I really know?). It also comes with a separate safety strap that is used to connect the head halter to your dog's collar.

Great halter
Got this for my extreme pulling malinois. He’s still getting used to having it on before I take him for a walk in it, but it fits perfectly and can be adjusted to any dog. I love the significance in the design, it reassures me that it’ll be amazing for training while also keeping my dog safe.

It works, much less pulling!
The media could not be loaded. We’ve been using this for 2 weeks now, we walk 3 miles every day. She still gets a little fussy when we first start our walks and will occasionally use her paws to try to take it off, but overall it really helps with the pulling. I really like how it has padding too. We had tried the Sidekick gentle lead, which works as well, but it’s more rope-like, and our dog started pulling again after about a week of using that one.
