This does require a shaving brush to use, and does need to be stored in some kind of container a coffee cup will work. As it fits inside of a coffee cup just fine. I've tried a variety of different shaving soaps including modern expensive ones all with about the same results. I've been using Henry Cavendish for about 5-6 months now and WOW the difference! I get a great lather very easily, a smooth shave, and no post shave irritation. A HUGE BONUS is that my razor blades are now lasting around 4 weeks! I had previously been having to replace the blades every 7-10 days. I attribute this to the excellent quality of the lather softening my beard and making easy work on the blade.
