I've bred rodents for a long time and tend to use tanks to avoid the possibility of injury to babies. These metal hangers are extremely helpful. This one in particular fits your standard size water bottle. Just drop the bottle into the holder and pull the stretchy metal fastener over it. There is a long, thin piece of metal that you then bend over the wall of the tank/aquarium so that it hangs in place. Piece is thin enough that it doesn't prop the top of the tank open or affect you using tank clips for clipping the lid securely in place. You could also use these in a wired cage if you really wanted to for some reason lol, but note that the bottle will be INSIDE the cage, not the outside. These are really good quality and chew proof! I've been using them for years. Remember though that your standard plastic bottles are NOT chew proof though and will be exposed to your pet. So if you have chewers, you may want to invest in glass feeder bottles, which Kaytee brand makes of a good quality- though it holds slilghtly less water than plastic bottles.

Where has this been for the last 7 years of my life 😭😂 if you own pet rats this is a MUST!! It works PERFECTLY and in just the right places to prevent them from chewing into the water bottles!! After my girls destroyed 3 water bottles I FINALLY searched for a cover and found this. Just perfect!

These holders are great of In tanks use as well as wire cage use. These ensure that the bottle stays secure, and keeps the animals from playing with the bottle out of curiosity and/or boredom, and consequently biting the bottom end of the bottle. I have had these last over 5 years. The metal strip used to bend over the tank edge can be carefully bent and rebels for different bottle height inside various tanks, and does not break off if not bent to form a crease in the metal. These are great for animals in tanks since finding bottles with ways to be fastened to the tank are hard to find. In a 100 gallon tank, you can hang these around the sides giving several animals their own drinking bottle. These will change low enough on a high 20 gallon, a 30 gallon up to a 100 gallon tank from my experience. They will not work in a low 20, or a 10 or smaller due to the height of the bottle.

Leaked pretty bad when I got it because either the plastic on the water bottle or the metal holder was bent/warped. After I fixed it the leaking has completely stopped

If you have a cage/enclosure with a lid, this will not work. It's junk. Doesn't fit cages with a top. Poorly designed. Must be a Millennial designed product.

Great option for tanks

Love it. So want to let others know about it. I originally looped string through hole in top of this, put knots in the string end, then pushed the lid of my tank onto the string to keep it in place. But the simpler method is to bend the very back piece of metal, that is behind the back of the holder to cover the rim of your tank. It's easy to bend and different to the harder metal the rest is made of. This is the second one of these I've brought, the first about a year ago (that one is still as good as new). Plus I feel price of item from this seller is good. Gerbil Review. This item is really good. I sometimes chew it but nothing happens. Because I like climbing I can jump, then hold onto the spring bottle holder and get onto the top of the water bottle. I did this a few times and enjoyed chewing through the string! Down went the holder and bottle! My owner has got round this problem by buying a bottle with a hanging loop on top, so I don't have space to get onto it anymore! Also the spring can be placed behind the back of the holder Also i still get water from the bottle without it being held in place with that spring. We both really like this item. The owner found ways around the my gerbil misadventure. But it took two weeks to arrive so bear that in mind.

Im sure it's a good product but I want to return it as our hamster died before we got to use it.

Bought this for my glass gerbilarium as most of the other ones available don't work unless you have a wire cage. I attached some industrial velcro to the smooth metal side and stuck it to the inside of my glass tank so I don't quite use it as it's intended but it works for me perfectly. The gerbils can't gnaw through the metal holder and it keeps the water bottle perfectly in place.

Great chew guard! One of my gerbils would chew through anything and the bottle needed to be hung from the side of the cage. I tried glass bottles and come other chew guards, but none worked well. The other chew guards were flimsy, got rusty really quick and the gerbils managed to break the strap. This chew guard works perfectly even with a plastic bottle.
