I did some research on why that would be when shea is considered to be fairly un-allergenic and found that raw shea can contain traces of natural latex, which I'm allergic to. Not saying that's what was happening, but it was a similar reaction to when I eat too many figs, or underripe figs, which contain latex in their sap, too. Though supposedly the refined version wheedles most of the latex out. With that said you can still have a fake product that isnt 100 percent unrefined or truly real shea butter even if its the color you think it should be. I'm okay with some melting...but don't want it melted out of the package on the front porch.** A: Mine arrived today totally liquified.
