desertcart.com : 3 Joan J Raspberry Plants-Everbearing, Thornless (3 Lrg 2 Yrs Bare root Canes) : Patio, Lawn & Garden Review: Couldn't be happier with these canes - I very rarely leave reviews for anything, mostly out of laziness but also because a lot of things are just fine and exactly as expected; I am posting a review about these raspberry starters because they've absolutely exceeded my expectations, any way you want to look at it. I went for second year canes because I was hoping that I wouldn't just get the plants established this year but maybe actually have some fruit as well. Far more than I'd hoped, we're pulling down enough berries for a side dish almost every evening. The canes were exactly as described, except that there was one extra in the package; following the instructions in the posted videos woke everything up and they were off and running as soon as I could get them out in the ground. Even now they are still flowering and I bet these will fruit until the frost finally closes up business for the year. I couldn't be happier with these plants - thank you. Review: Slow and Steady Wins the Race! - A little slow to start out (planted Spring 2024 as bare roots) but now August 2025 we have tall, flowering canes with large darker colored raspberries. The first summer we had maybe 10 berries between 3 plants, all 3 bare roots grew well just didn’t flower and produce much but this year they have taken off very well!! Berries are great tasting and sweet. Huge positive is these canes are thornless!! Would definitely recommend trying them!

2 survived, but are doing great.
Two out of the three survived, but the two that survived are doing great and produced fruit the first years. The raspberries are large, pretty, and taste great.

Beautiful tasty berries
Purchased these twice last year and by the end of summer we were getting a few berries each day. This spring the plants multiplied by three and we got over 10 lbs of berries on the early bloom and could have gotten about the same on the second bloom if the wasps and hornets didn’t take the entire patch over! I have recommended this variety to several people.

Not worth the money
My order arrived on June 25th and I immediately planted them. However, they have not sent out even one leaf even though I gave them a good start with nutrients to help the roots adjust and give them energy to grow. I gave them 3.5 weeks to start sending out growth and finally checked them by scratching the surface a bit and they are brown underneath their skin, not green. They are not viable. Unfortunately the return window was closed before the usual 30 days from date of delivery. I do not suggest buying from this seller since they do not provide a full 30 day return window to give the buyer time to see if the plants are viable.

They didn’t take!
I originally bought raspberry canes at Menards. I assumed they were not well taken care of as to the reason why they didn’t sprout or grow or do anything. That’s why I decided to buy from a specialty provider. However, regardless of my meticulous efforts to ensure a proper environment, these also appear to not be viable. It’s been long enough. I’m disappointed! I made an entire section in my yard specifically for these to grow and produce. Not sure what to do with it now!

Super Healthy, Beautiful
Trust me on this one. These starts will grow! I had to store these about a week in my garage. When I opened the package and carefully unwrapped the starts I was amazed. Each of the starter plants had brand new healthy roots among the dormant roots. Each plant was ready to go into it's newly prepared bed ! I had no doubt that they would grow fine for me. The extra BONUS was instead of just three shoots this seller put in FOUR . I should have plenty of red rasperries every year. Joan raspberries are supposed to be marvelous and reliable producers. If you are deciding which seller to choose, go with this seller. !!
