I LOVE to color but hate using my sons coloring books because they tend to bore me easily. This coloring book is perfect for someone like me that loves to color but doesn't want to use my sons ninja turtles and cars coloring books. It has so many pages and just one takes a good bit of time to complete. I absolutely love the variety of designs that are in this book. The pages are more glossy so I tried a couple different coloring items to see what look best on it. I ended up with a ultra fine point permanent marker. Crayons and color pencils seemed too light and a regular marker looked streaky to me. I definitely intend on getting another one of these as soon as I get this first one finished. I was able to get this at a discount in exchange for my review. I have included a picture that shows me testing out a green colored pencil (which you can barely see), a regular blue marker (it was streaky), and then a pink ultra fine point permanent marker (my favorite). --.comI LOVE coloring!! I have always appreciated being creative and coloring not only brings that out in me, but also helps me to unwind. Even before I had kids, I had my own stash of books and crayons. Back then my crayons were all in one piece and not naked...lol. Now, my 2yr old will hand me a crayon and within seconds take it back. This book, this adult coloring book, is by far AMAZING!! I love this book so very much. No pages are the exact same. The curves and designs are so elegant and captivating. There is so much detail in each and every page, which there are 54 pages. It is hardback, comes with a blotter so that if you choose to use paints or markers, it will not bleed through. It is spiral bound and just the best put together coloring book that I have ever seen. I opted to use colored pencils for my first page. I sit waiting in the car line for over an hour at the school and thought this would be a perfect thing to take with me. I was right. I felt a little odd at first with people watching me color, but hey, don't judge me. It is magical!! Time flew by while I was coloring and I didn't even finish within that hour. I waited for the kids to get to sleep and then pulled it out to finish. I really cannot wait to start my second page. I made the mistake of showing my 8yr old and now she has started a page. It keeps her busy though and she loves to be creative, as much as I do. This coloring book is highly recommended for anyone!! They would make excellent gifts, for someone else or for yourself. This book is different from others that I own because it comes with a top spiral binding. This makes it so convenient to color in anywhere. The pages are nice and thick, and they are perforated for easy removal. Included in the book is a blotter page to put between the page you are coloring and the ones behind it.Another great feature of this book is that there is a copy of the cover page to color and a title page to color. The designs are hand drawn which gives the pages a unique look.I love working with sharpies in this book. The pages take the marker well and because of the thickness I am not worried about bleed through. I also have briefly tried gels pens and colored pencils, they both work well also.The designs have bold lines with patterns inside of them. As you can see in my attached pictures, I've experimented with lots of colors (I use gel pens). There is one with 2016 SuperBowl team colors, Mardi Gras theme (purple, green, gold), and a few multi-color including one in progress. My absolute favorite is the one with the pink flower in the center - I think the colors work perfectly together.Coloring is very soothing for me before bedtime, so much so that initially I was staying up way later than usual just to color! I've had to develop some willpower to be able to stop and go to sleep - I guess I'm addicted... here is why:-Thick pages so no bleed-through, although a special page is included that you can rip out and use to protect the next page if you wish (I've never needed to use it.)-Cool designs.
