I haven’t noticed bees, but will update my review if there’s an issue when it’s warmer, though I think this type is more bee proof than the upside-down bottle types that tend to leak and the fact it doesn’t have yellow parts should help. I haven’t noticed rusting issues, but I hand wash them and dry off the metal lids right after washing (probably helps that in rarely rains here). I do want to note, when I ordered this off desertcart in December 2020 it was about $9, and now it’s almost double - so I just went to Home Depot today and bought three of the same exact one for $7 per feeder, so I can swap out for cleaning more easily and hang one up on the other side of the balcony to reduce territorial issues. They come with some spare “flowers” as they will fade in full sun over time; I plan to use the brighter ones at the beginning of the season and then switch to the faded ones once the birds know where the feeder is)…although I think they remember, maybe it could help migrating ones in early spring find it though. These are bee proof, and I have no idea how to rate “suction” as a category for this review but I think the hummingbirds were easily able to feed judging by their activity. A caution, I’ve found it easiest to clean these, rehang them, then fill and screw the lid on rather than carrying them out and hanging them full. Thrilled with these, we have a 2nd floor deck and potted tomatoes, we hang the feeders on the top rung of the tomato cage and have enjoyed many hours visited by the hummingbirds to these. Obviously you can fill less & there's space in the container for another ounce or two ... but four ounces is the listed capacity. **Q: Does anyone have this in Washington state? I only saw one bird** A: I live in Western Washington, south of Tacoma near I5 but not near the water. I’ve had this feeder for over a year, and the Anna’s love it. It took a couple of weeks for them to find it. It’s hung on the side of the house opposite the wind, and does well in wind storms. **Q: So why isnt amazon not shipping thru ups anymore one of reasons i started buying from amazon it came right to my door now i have yo go to post office** A: The Amazon delivery by own drivers works great. **Q: Glass or plastic flowers?** A: My flowers were Silicone rubber and the flowers melted off in the wash water over time, the red washed off right away though. Now I can't use it anymore without the flowers. This feeder is well designed for easy cleaning. However, be careful when removing and replacing the silicone flowers.
