Quality Fish Oil at a Great Value
Quality Fish Oil at a Great Value The Kirkland Signature Fish Oil is one of those dependable supplements that just makes sense to keep on hand. Each softgel provides 1000mg of fish oil with omega-3 fatty acids, and the bottle comes loaded with 400 softgels—plenty for long-term use at a very reasonable price. The softgels are smooth and easy to swallow, not oversized like some other brands I’ve tried. I appreciate that they don’t leave a lingering fishy aftertaste, which can be a common problem with fish oil. The quality feels consistent, and being from Kirkland, there’s some reassurance that you’re getting a solid product at good value. Something to note: since the dose is 1000mg per softgel, you may need to take multiple per day depending on your personal or doctor-recommended omega-3 needs. Bottom line: A well-priced, reliable fish oil supplement that delivers omega-3s in an easy-to-take form, making it a practical choice for daily health support.

No fishy aftertaste.
Good price, good quality product, no fishy aftertaste.I got this to take with prohormones.400 servings at 1,000mg ea. this is a great buy. Fish oil is a common term used to refer to two kinds of omega-3 fatty acids: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). These omega-3 fats are usually found in fish, animal products and phytoplankton. Fish oil is recommended as a source of these omega-3 fats as they are the cheapest and most common source of them. Fish oil provides a variety of benefits when supplemented, particularly when the ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in the body is almost equal (1:1). The average diet (red meat, eggs, and so forth) are high in omega-6 fatty acids, which is why fish oil is recommended (to balance the ratio). A ratio of roughly 1:1 is associated with healthier blood vessels, a lower lipid count and a reduced risk for plaque buildup. Fish oil can also decrease the risk of diabetes and several forms of cancer, including breast cancer. Fish oil works primarily through eicosanoids, which are signalling molecules. A proper ratio of omega 3:6 fatty acids will influence which eicosanoids are released in response to stress. It should be noted that fish oil can also reduce triglycerides in people with high triglyceride levels. However, it can also increase cholesterol, so care should be taken before supplementing fish oil for this purpose. Follow this Page for updates Things to Know Also Known As Eicosapentaenoic Acid, EPA, Docosahexaenoic Acid, DHA, Omega-3 fatty acids, Omega-3, Omega 3, N-3 Fatty Acids Do Not Confuse With Alpha-Linolenic Acid (the plant-based omega-3) Things to Note Though fish oil is not a stimulant, it increases brain activity, so a stimulatory effect may be felt after supplementation Most of fish oil's beneficial effects happen over a period of days and weeks, rather than immediately Post-supplementation "fish burps" can be avoided by consuming fish oil with food, or freezing the capsules before supplementation

Super product for basic supplementation. No need to over dose on higher concentration products unless necessary.
Just a note that Costco in my area has this on sale for $6.99. Natural TAG and I called the vitamin hot line and they said it was made in the USA. Make sure that you get the Natural version and not the Enteric product because it is the ethyl ester and will not get into your systemic circulation (blood) as efficient as the TAG product that is of lower concentration. Also be aware that it has the USP seal. "USP is a scientific nonprofit organization that establishes federally recognized standards for the quality of drugs, dietary supplements, and foods. It is the only such organization that also offers voluntary verification services to help ensure dietary supplement quality, purity, and potency. USP standards are used in more than 140 countries and are federally recognized per the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act." My bottle of Kirkland Natural (not the enteric, ethyl ester) with lot number 395187-01 Exp. 11/216, each capsule weighs 1.53025 g with dimensions length of 24.50 mm and diameter 10.09 mm supplies 1.04088 grams of TAG fish oil. See my consumer supplied image for size relative to a US penny. American Heart Association (AHA) Recommendation from [...] "We recommend eating fish (particularly fatty fish) at least two times (two servings) a week. Each serving is 3.5 oz. cooked, or about ¾ cup of flaked fish. Enjoy fish baked or grilled, not fried." This amounts to for salmon 2,566 - 4,434 mg twice a week or 367-mg to 633-mg daily. Salmon is expensive ($8.99/lb in my area) and is one of the oily fish that supplies the most omega-3s per mass of fish. Some consumers can't afford salmon or other fish and maybe left out of the Inuit effect and have compromised benefits of protecting the heart and blood vessels from disease. It is my opinion that taking two of these Kirkland Natural fish oil supplements may provide the same dose as eating salmon twice a week but at an affordable price. Two Kirkland Natural softgels will provide 600 mg of omega-3 daily that is recommended by AHA for those without heart disease. This may reduce your health care cost by the statements on fish oil bottles that are approved statement by the FDA that says "Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease." Bottom line, AHA recommended dose for those who can't afford the price the rich pay to get cardioprotection. Just 5 cents a day for "Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease." seems like a no-brainer to me. A lot of great fish oil tablets in this big bottle
There are 400 tablets in this big bottle, and so it's an awesome deal. This fish oil worked for me, mostly as an appetite suppressant. Your body needs oils, and if you don't get enough oils, then eventually you won't be able to control your hunger urges, and most of the time you'll crave desserts and stuff yourself on things that make you gain a lot of weight. Well, that's what happens for me. So I lost a lot of weight by making sure I had a few fish oil tablets every day, and then I was able to cut back on the rest of my food without getting insatiable cravings I started being a fan of fish oil, because my favorite psychic in New Orleans, Alobar, always recommends fish oil on his blog. It also has tons of other benefits. And, if you want to reduce the fishy aftertaste, just drink two full glasses of water with this, and you won't have any aftertaste. Benefits: *Slows the aging process by lengthening telemeres *Heart benefits *Works as an appetite suppressant *Helps reduce high triglycerides and cholesterol *Helps with high blood pressure *Reduces asthma symptoms *Helps with kidney problems *Strengthens bones Pros: +Not too much of a fishy aftertaste, but make sure you drink a couple glasses of water afterwards +Very economical Cons: -Very large container, that takes up a bunch of room on your shelf

Great value, Great Product, Good For Dogs too...
From a Veterinary Perspective: Fish Oil is widely popular neutraceutical that does have some medical benefit when added to your diet appropriately. In humans the most common reasons for usage are cardiovascular, skin, and joint health. In the veterinary community we use it for liver, kidney, heart, eye, skin and arthritic conditions as well. The key to it's usage is finding the right concentrations of EPA and DHA fatty acids. The Kirkland Signature Bottle (Costco) states that each 1000mg capsule contains 300mg of Total Omega-3 Fatty acids comprised of EPA, DHA and other Fatty Acids. What it doesn't state is the actual breakdown of the percentages. If you do some digging with Costo you can find that each capsule contains 9 - 12.5% DHA and 18 - 22% EPA. Now that you have that information you can deduce how many capsule your doctor might be recommending you take. I for one find the Kirkland brand to be well respected, inexpensive, a very easy to use product and I've often recommended it to my clients as a great starting point for the addition of Omega-3 Fatty Acids to the diet of my canine patients for the last 9 years. My own current dog has been taking them now for the past 19 months and I'm very pleased with her response and willingness to eat the capsule when just tossed in her food. I will add though that the lemon flavored ones we accidentally ordered once (while great for humans as the fish flavor is all but gone) did not go over very well. Just watch what you order. *before using this product with your pet, seek the advice of your regular veterinarian for dosage information and the appropriateness of its usage.

Great product, helped my dog's skin/coat considerably
I'm very happy with this purchase. I bought this to give to my dog, a collie. He has some skin and coat issues, and I find that putting fish oil in his foot really helps his coat. The serving size is two pills per day. What I generally do is prick the soft gel pill with a safety pin and squeeze the oil on top of his food. He likes the taste, and it's much easier than trying to toss these large sized pills down this throat. This is also a really great price for the amount of pills I get. The bottle is huge. I give him two pills a day (sometimes one, but usually two) so this bottle lasts almost a year. I'm very happy with this product. I have ordered Kirkland vitamins before. This is something to consider if your dog has skin issues. I also changed his food to a better quality product that has meat as a first ingredient and doesn't contain corn, wheat or soy. Changing his food and including fish oil in his diet has dramatically improved his quality of life. He used to spend a LOT of time itching and he had horrible dandruff. Now he's happy, healthy and dandruff free.

Number 1, Grade A Product
This has always been for me, essentially a real fine product. My numbers, (Cholesterol and BP) have all been improved dramatically. Even my family doctor was amazed at the results I am experiencing. I highly recommend this product if an individual is in need of it. A word about ordering from Amazon and paying Amazon's prices. In reference to another post, an individual was astounded at the difference in pricing between Costco and Amazon. Sure, you may pay a little more here at Amazon, however, I do not have to drive all the way to Costco (about 18 miles round trip), then search for some time to find a parking place and then enter into the abyss. Costco is constantly crowded with rude, ignorant and smelly people. After I locate what I need, I have to go stand in a long line forever, and behind rude, ignorant and smelly people. Then I have to carry my own order out to the car, and then drive home. With free shipping from Amazon., it more than pays to not have burn fuel, put up with traffic and a lot of rude, ignorant and smelly people. We are only talking about a dollar or so price difference. Great product, great price and as always, great shipping time and customer service. Thanks for reading, Antonio
