All other sharpeners have broken within the first week and the electric ones in my classroom just eat the pencils up. This works quickly and makes the sharpest points without even having to hold the pencil. The students enjoy using it and want to take turns sharpening everything. Easy set, clean, and use!! It sharpens the pencil really well with only 1 or 2 cranks. At this price point, you can't ask for much but it does do a fabulous job. Sadly I do need to return this as I had bought this for my kindergarten boys. The design is not meant for kids and there is no possible way they would be able to use this. There is a safey lock that you have to push to stick a pencil in. none of the boys have the strength to push that button. and the cranking is not smooth. They don't have the strength to turn the crank. Thus it will not serve the purpose of young kids.
