Norton3X High Performance Hook and Sand Paper Discs with 6 Hole, Ceramic Alumina, 6 in. Diameter, Grit P60 Coarse (Pack of 10)

Man these are awesome. I picked up the pricy Bosch 6" 1250DEVS sander as i was needing to strip the crazed gelcoat on a Livingston boat i got for free. My 5" Bosch sander was taking way too long and the grinder with metal wheel worked too fast. Upon ordering the new sander I purchased these, once my sander came I tried it out with the sanding disc that came with it, needless to say that pad lasted less than 3 minutes before starting to come apart. Knowing I had actual fiberglass too in other areas I was going to be sanding I was skeptical on the longevity of these pads. I put one on, and it is still on, after 5 hours of sanding, this first pad still has much life left.I will say these might be pricey but it is totally worth it, even value wise when you compare how many other pads you'll go through.

The seller delivered a product that did not match the advertised product. The seller withheld the prepaid return label cost after I returned the item saying there was nothing was wrong with the product. They sent me a product different than advertised and won't provide the full refund! Repeated contact attempts go unanswered. Buyer beware.

I bought one of each grit being offered here on Amazon to use with my Bosch orbital sander, and compared to the Bosch-branded disk that was included with the sander, these Norton discs wear much better and do not fray or tear as easily at the edges. The Bosch sanding disk was not bad, but these are just a lot better in terms of durability and sanding efficiency - meaning that you do not need to spend as much time sanding to get the desired result.

First of, what you get when you order this is not the product shown in the picture...it is the newer version of the product with a lot of tiny holes in the sanding pad.The video in the product description shows the correct product.I used a punch to create 6 holes in the sanding pad corresponding to the holes in my sander,so this was not a problem.The pad worked very well while it was actually attached to the sander. Unfortunatelythe velcro-like hook and loop side of the sanding disk is of poor quality.The disk falls of the sander in under 30 minutes of use and there is no adhesion left.The abrasive side was still in good shape, but it does not help if the pad does not stick.

I was using the coated Bosch brand discs recommended for my Bosch sander when I decided to try these. The Bosch were good, but on these discs from Norton the abrasive on these is even more resistant to clogging. The life limiting factor for most discs I have tried (during the current "sand off the entire outside of this log house to refinish it" project has generally been the abrasive coming loose from the backing and chipping off around the outside edge. These held up much longer than any others by 3-4x, making their somewhat higher per-disc cost cheaper overall for me. There was also the added advantage of not having to change discs as frequently (a huge benefit when you are up on a ladder)!

First pass on my 3 x 10 feet hallway I used a craftsman belt sander 3" x 18" and 40 grit. Followed up with these 60 grit six inchers. Perfect. They ceramic ones are so much better and durable than the regular 6 " disk sandpaper. The ceramic is the ticket. I used 40 grit ceramic on the crafsman, too.Don't know why the one reviewer said they fell off as soon as you applied pressure. Not true at least for me.

Doesn't matter if the abrasive compound is more durable if the hook and loop backing chews up/falls apart under any pressure.
