Grant 440 Challenger Chrome Steering Wheel

Bought for my '86 gmc truck. Along with the grant steering wheel mounting kit. It looks and works just great. It is much smaller than my original steering wheel that came on the truck which makes getting in and comfort feel of the steering wheel. And it looks great too. Very pleased with my purchase.

I like this steering wheel but be aware of the diameter, it may be an inch smaller than your stock wheel. I think mine was 14" but this wheel is only 13" or something close to that. Also some of the rivet nuts were slightly loose and the plastic piece was not centered between the two steel halfs of the wheel. It was an easy fix with an allen wrench to readjust everything, then retighten or tighten all of the allen head screws. Now the wheel looks and fits perfect.The horn button was a bit challenging to twist and turn over the spring, so I used a piece of yellow/beige masking tape to help grip the chrome without marring or scratching it.

Great looking wheel. It's such a classic design. Your dad ran the same wheel on his 75 Camaro back in the day. Wheel looks awesome on any vintage car.

I had a 30 year old one that was beat up, and this was a return/ or opened! I got it for half price! Works great, looks great!

very nice looking and very solid. if you have ever changed a steering wheel before it takes about 5 minutes to install. feels good and strong. no flex that i have notice yet. only thing i dont like is the horn button. if you have to take it back off the way it sits down in the wheel it will be hard to get out with using something to pry it out and try not to bend or scratch anything. over all it seems to be very good so far.

I purchased this wheel on amazon.com after my local auto parts store that carries Grant wheels REFUSED to pricematch Summit Racing, JEGS, or AMAZON.com!!! I had the wheel in my hand, ready to buy it, but the Manager said they don't do the price match thing. Needless to say, I walked out into the parking lot and ordered the exact same wheel from AMAZON.com and I got it in less than 3 days, even with Super Save Shipping!!!The wheel looks great installed. This one is the polished chrome (not brushed), so it's very shiny, and shows fingerprints pretty easily. But then again, if you keep your hands on the wheel, and not on the spokes, you'll be fine. The black part is PVC or vinyl. It doesn't feel like leather (and Grant doesn't claim it's leather... so no complaints there), but it does have a nice grippable texture to it.And for all of you lazy people, you're definitely going to want to disconnect the battery for this installation, as one step in the process requires you to short out the horn for a good 3-5 minutes while you're installing the wheel. You could really tick off the neighbors and/or wife if you insist on leaving the battery connected during the process. Consider yourself warned!
