Davidson's Organics, Chamomile Flowers, Loose Leaf Tea, 16-Ounce Bag

I'm so glad I decided to buy this. I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of loose leaf tea but its so tasty that I have been drinking it every night since I got it. The only thing I'm worried about is it going stale before I have a chance to use it all, so I bought big glass mason jars to keep it air tight. Definitely high quality and a great deal, would buy again if I manage to drink a pound of tea.

It's really nice and fresh. Lovely honey like smell. The flowers are yellow and not brown. Great quality and a lot in the bag. Good value if you love chamomile.

These seem to be good quality chamomile flowers. They smell lovely and are a pretty yellow. I use them for my horses to help soothe their guts and they eat them well. I love the big bag and bulk value.

Very fresh & full flavor. It is Egyptian chamomile. Never heard of that before. Smells & tastes like Roman chamomile.

I bought this large bag twice. The first time, the fragile flowers were mostly whole, and beautiful in color. The flavor was great and even counteracted the bitterness of other things I blended it with for herbal medicinal needs. It was so great I knew I wouldn't need to shop around in the future. The quality was better than I ever expected. The product is bagged in a sturdy giant pouch that kept it fresh until the end. However, the second time I bought it, the sturdy giant pouch must have seemed indestructible to the packer. It was shipped to me in a paper sleeve wrapper, and the flowers inside were pulverized. That makes for gritty, chewy tea, since the chamomile won't stay in a tea strainer, even an extrafine one. We should expect 10-25% breakage, but not a bag of mostly petal dust. The product is not returnable, but I was able to resolve it with Amazon customer service. I hope this is a temporary blip. Even with 60% pulverized powder and 40% flowers it's probably a good value for the quality, if you want to take the risk and don't want to deal with a possible manually-created return.

This review is for the 'Herb Chamomile Flower' variety. I almost gave it five stars - Chamomile flavors can vary widely sometimes, this to me has a nice, rich, balanced flavor if you use the right amount - & this product seems to be very effective in the herbal properties attributed to Chamomile, even when the tea drinker expects it not to work (my own skeptical mother). but too much of my time was required finishing the processing to merit THAT good of a review. I set up a little station and just inspected/sorted the whole pound for detritus & stems as I packed it into tins and jars for storage. The weight of the removed material, pebbles & small piece of metal included, was barely negligible. The desiccated snail made me question the Kosher rating, but I am not very familiar with the Kosher laws. That is how they have this so cheap, mechanically harvested & minimally processed, so if you expect to open the bag & find a pristine product prepare to pay much more $$$ per ounce. This was still a great $$$ deal per ounce even figuring my time invested and items removed. But I did not dawdle over the task & complain, I just jumped in & got it done. It would have cost me much more land/time/labor to grow, dry & process that much chamomile flower myself! I also very much like that the Davidson's Bulk Tea subscription allows you to select from their different products for each shipment!

This is a highly affordable 1 lb bag of high-grade chamomile flowers. This is what chamomile tea which should taste like. I highly recommend anything by Davidson's Organics.
