BLACK+DECKER Steam Mop, White (HSM13E1)

Surprised a bit on how well this works on tile and wood surfaces. Really does clean and sanitizes the floors.

Great little steam.mop for quick clean up. There are no attachments for this machine,. Very light weight easy to use. My only complaints are the cord could be longer and there isn't a second bracket to be able to wrap the cord around.

I bought the Black and Decker steam mop 9 months ago. Initially, I agreed with most of the concerns until I learned the problem usually was me and not the mop. For example, the electric cord to short. Yes, but then I learned to coordinate my mopping with the locations of my outlets. Now cord length is perfect! Even wrapping the electric cord after use turned out OK when I learned to secure the plug end at the top of the handle first, then looping the remaining cord around the hook a couple of times. No more problem. This mop doesn't last. My first mop broke (steamer) with two weeks of use. B & D replaced it. Now, I know to refill the tank before it goes dry. Conclusion: I think the B & D mop is the best value on the market for steam cleaning household floors!

The only reason this is getting three stars is because I do like the ability to shut off the steam and also it puts out the perfect amount of water and cleans well. For the bad, the design is terrible in four important ways as mentioned in other reviews (which I wish I had read before purchase so my fault). 1. This thing will not stand in its own unless in a very particular position and even then a slight gust of wind sends it toppling. 2. The one hook cord storage has to be the stupidest design I have ever seen. I did buy a command hook so I could wind the cord so that takes care of that issue (other than no notch to secure the plug to the cord). 3. The cord is not long enough but again I remedied this with a 6ft extension cord though I’m sure this is probably not recommended somewhere in the instructions so I take my own risk. 4. I did not like the pad included but have a ton from my old Shark steam mop (RIP) and they work well enough with this mop so it’s not completely useless. I would not recommend this mop to anyone. It is a bit cheaper than the Shark mop I was looking to replace but wish I wouldn’t have let my cheap side win and it’s spent the extra $20 to get a mop I know I like.

For the price, this is a nice little steam mop. It was very easy to put together. For a small floor, the little water tank probably holds enough water to get the job done. But I have a large kitchen floor, and it took filling up the little tank twice. But it's so easy, that's not a problem. It's easy to watch the water level. It heats up quickly and is ready to go. The cord could be a little longer, but for a small floor, it's probably just right. I like that the pad, which attaches by velcro, is washable and reusable. The mop is lightweight and it swivels, making turns easier. And it has a low profile. It is quiet, with only the sound of the steam going. I was damp-mopping my kitchen floor, but this mop is a whole lot easier, and I got finished a whole lot faster. My floor is probably a whole lot cleaner too! The pad showed how much dirt it got up. I think it took longer for my floor to dry, than it did for me to actually mop it! (It does get hot, so be careful!)

I just received my steam mop and I love it. It heats up rapidly and it steam cleaned my entire home. The steam doesn't leave the floor wet which makes it easier to walk on after I'm done. I also love not having to add more chemicals. The cloth mopping attachments are easy to throw in the washing machine. The steam cleaner worked very well on my hardwood floors and my tile kitchen and bathrooms.

Add me to the customers who had high hopes and are now sadly disappointed. I moved into a house where the previous owners must never have washed the floor in all the years they lived here; it's filthy and Swiffer is NOT cutting it. I bought this steam mop as the perfect alternative, especially since i have a cat and don't want to use too many chemicals. As others have stated, the reservoir doesn't detach for filling; trying to get the whole machine under the faucet is annoying at best. The cord is too short; I have to constantly be unplugging and replugging, which wouldn't bother me if I had outlets in convenient places in the house (which I don't). But, here's the best part, the pad doesn't completely touch the floor, so only in spots where the velcro strips exist does the pad make contact with the floor for cleaning! The mop can't clean if most of the pad is floating above the surface of the floor. I am very frustrated. I will buy different pads (hopefully thicker?) and see if that helps. But if it doesn't I will be seeking a refund. If it does help, I will try to update this review. ( I am giving it three stars for ease of use and a good amount of steam.)

Heats up quickly and spits out a lot of steam. I bought this because I recently painted my condo and had some paint splatter on the flooring. This did the trick wonderfully. Took all the paint off without much effort. I only paid $35 for this on sale so I have zero complaints - great addition to my household cleaning supplies. For a condo the power cord is more than long enough, seems like that is an issue for buyers, but for the sale price I paid - get an extension cord or just plug it in another socket...

Awful - considering I was replacing a steam mop of the same brand that lasted 7+ years, this has never worked properly in the 6 weeks of me owning it, and is now useless. Initially it produced far too much steam, then when switching off to refill the tank it would not turn on again (for at least 24 hrs). Now it turns on but produces no steam at all. No way to get a refund or replacement either as apparently this was sold under an international amazon with zero information or advertising that it was (I use the UK Amazon app - everything looked as usual).
