George of the Jungle

I LOVED George of the Jungle as a kid, so when I found it online, I was absolutely thrilled. It's STILL funny, exciting, romantic, and SUPER extra after all these years! Not often do you get something that's both extremely campy and extremely genuine. How many G- or PG- rated movies can you say that about? It holds up to what I remember from my childhood, fart jokes and all!

This movie was a really funny and great movie except for the fact that the whole thing got ruined by putting nudity in it once they had arrived back in California - that ruined the whole thing and it is no longer a family movie it’s just another way to put a little more nudity into things that children and young people watch and totally unacceptable -Rest of the movie was great and if there was someway for me to delete that scene I would and keep the movie other than that there’s nobody I would show it to and I don’t care to watch it again either! rest of the movie was great and if there was someway for me to delete that scene I would and keep the movie other than that there’s nobody I would show it to and I don’t care to watch it again either

Family classic. Been watching when it comes on TV for years, couldn't find on Hulu or Netflix without paying 3 or 4 dollars to rent it ($17.99 to purchase!), decided to check Amazon and wasn't disappointed. Took 1 day to arrive free w Prime, so an excellent deal at $4.99 for the DVD! Excited to have the kids watch, as 2 have never seen it and 1 hasn't seen it since he was 3 years old. Anyway, a cute if somewhat cheesy '90's movie. Mild romance, some parts may not be appropriate for kids under 9 or 10. If you enjoy it you would probably also like Jungle 2 Jungle.

C'mon. It's George of the Jungle. Who doesn't love this fun, ridiculous, silly movie? Curmudgeons. That's who. I loved it (he, of course), my son who is now 25 loved it when he was young, and now my 9 yr old daughter and her friends love it. We all love George and the music.

Love this movie!!! I'm a big movie buff and have a huge collection and when I saw this I thought "why don't I own this movie yet?!" And we watched it as soon as I got it and it's perfect!

Oh my gosh! George of the jungle. One Of the funniest movies ever made. George of the jungle is definitely one of my favorite live action Disney movies. And Brendan Fraser is such a great talented actor of all time. He was really young at 29 years old in George of the jungle. It also features Leslie Mann, and Thomas Haden church. I love George of the jungle. It's kind of like a Tarzan story and the live action version of Tarzan. I am so happy I have it on DVD now.

I was absolutely thrilled when I heard that Disney had taken a cartoon I loved from the late 60s and given it the big screen treatment. Naturally, I expected it would die a quick death at the box office, and was delighted when it was actually a hit of some stature. It says something about a show that only had 17 episodes in its original run when so many people remember it as well as they do this many years later. The good news is, they stayed true to the spirit of how Jay Ward did the cartoon, right down to the discussions between the characters onscreen and the narrator (in this case a great impersonation and tribute to the late Paul Frees, one of animation's greatest voice-over people) and the requisite (not to mention obvious) really bad puns...and all the things that made the cartoon as funny and hip as it was back in 1967...they're all here in the movie. Don't look for War & Peace here, just a really enjoyable and funny movie for young and old alike that never gets risque or mean spirited. Brendan Fraser obviously enjoyed doing this (he must have or he wouldn't have played the starring role in Dudley Do-Right, another Jay Ward classic character)...John Cleese gave the perfect voice to the Ape character (very proper and British). This one's a loving tribute to the mad genius of Jay Ward. If you don't think so, you're overanalyzing it or you're looking too hard for meaning here. Get some popcorn, put this one in and get ready for some good laughs...and just try to get that theme song out of your head!

My 4-year-old thought the slapstick in this was hilarious. It's a silly campy movie that I had seen as a kid, but it's a gem, in the opinion of my kiddos.

veryy good condition and arrived fine too. good value for money.Really enjoy this dvd I owned the video years ago and never managed to watch it when shown on TV. The acting from all cast are very good exceptionally Brenda Fraser as George. The narrator is pretty funny too and I cannot help but laugh at this even though am an adult!Another hugely daft film but will cheer you up!

Loved this film as a child and have been looking for it for years so glad to finally have it. Still as good now as it was then.

George of the Jungle has got to be one of the funniest and most carefree films (the narrator tells you whether to panic or not). Brendan Fraser simply puts so much energy and charm into his character you can't help thinking all Tarzan films should have been this way. His future love, Ursula, is so sweet,not at all annoying , perfectly suited to George in her innocence. The bad guy is someone you really love to hate, you're so happy when things go wrong for him. I'm happy I bought the film, the sheer corniness makes you laugh out loud.

This item arrived late, so I wasn't able to give it to my boyfriend on our anniversary. But he was still happy to has received it.

having heard a couple of reverential references to this film on the Mark Kermode/Simon Mayo show, i took the plunge.they were spot on; this is a live action classic, works on both adult & kid levels, up there with 'Toy Story'.yes, it's that good.i've never heard our 4-year old son laugh so much at a film. tears of laughter all round. he even suggested we show this film for his impending 5th birthday party!no higher recommendation.

Brendon Fraser, muscles and a big smile and funny. John Cleese makes a great ape! Very funny throughout, had this on Video and thought I'd never get to watch it again - but thanks Amazon!! It's brilliant fun when you're feeling low and the good guys come out on top!

I ordered this film for me rather than the children as it reminds me of living at home with my parents. It is completely daft and silly but it makes me chuckle every time! My children (three and five) seem to think it's pretty hilarious too so everyone is happy!

I have not played them as of yet; only arrived today. I bought this DVD for my 86 mother who has dementia, she thoroughly enjoys this movie!

Brilliant film, I first watched it in 1997 and I still watch it today. I couldn't imagine anyone but Brendan Fraser as the endearing hero George, he plays the part perfectly! A great family film which will leave both adults and children laughing from start to end.Great delivery too, I ordered the DVD on a Wednesday afternoon just after Christmas and it was delivered the following morning - I hadn't even asked for next day delivery! Very impressive.
